Unknowingly he/him
So, in Brandon's latest blog post here, he outlined his writing schedule following the release of Oathbringer. Between the release of Oathbringer in November 2017 and the release of Stromlight #4 in 2020, there is only going to be one other Cosmere book released, the final in the Mistborn era 2 books. The main series he will be writing will be his new YA series, the Apocalypse Guard. I won't lie, as much as I enjoy Brandon's writing overall, I am really diapointed by the lack of Cosmere content in the next 3 years. I'm sure I'll love the Apocalypse Guard series, just like I did the Rekoners, and I really shouldn't complain considering that his plan is to release at least 2 books a year until the next Stormlight. But I am a selfish human being, and I really just want more Cosmere, haha. How does everyone else feel about this development? And is it even possible to be this prolific? Has brandon finally admitted his robotic origins? Let us discuss in the comments below!
Hawkido
As a 20 year long reader of Robert Jordan's works, All I have to say is "Yer Spoilt!" LOL... It was bound to happen, just like tWoT, as the series becomes more convoluted the thought needed and therefore the stress of not making a mistake will make the series slow down... fortunately Brandon seems to relax by writing other books, so there is that. However I am right there with you wishing that it could all be Cosmere 24/7. However I do believe that waiting 3 years per book did help me enjoy tWoT more deeply, but also punished the readers during the PLOD (PlotLine Of Doom), where one Character's story arc was just horrible for 2.5 books (the rest of those books were great, but that one story arc marred those books).
Ammanas
What I don't understand is how Wax and Wayne #4 is a Fall 2019 release. If he finishes on schedule in July 2018 is usually takes about 6 months of edits for a book like that. That would mean a December 2018 or early 2019 release. So I am disappointed by that and a lack of cosmere content. I also appreciate Brandon for all he has done for fans and his transparency. I am willing to cut him some slack and enjoy whatever he feels like writing.
ZenBossanova
I came into the Wheel of Time well after A Memory of Light, and just trying to read it all at once just isn't as good as having time between books, to think about and discuss them. I am not fan of waiting any more than anyone else here, but it really is better. I notice, they are doing this with the new Tick series. Instead of giving you a full season to binge on, they broke it up a little, so you can think about and discuss each detail of his mighty blue justice. It helps you savor it all the more. Draginon he/him
I don't mind the schedule since it gives me a chance to catch up on everything. Who knows, the unknown novella could be Cosmere related and the Rithmatist 2 spot could be replaced with Cosmere so we have 1-3 (1-4 if you count White Sand Volume 3) to look forward to before Stormlight 4. I just hope the non-Cosmere collection comes out somewhere in here since I want to read Legion and copies are hard to find. 1 hour ago, Ammanas said: What I don't understand is how Wax and Wayne #4 is a Fall 2019 release. I think he's trying to go the route of having things written in advance in order to 'have more time' writing Stormlight 4 so he's probably delaying everything on purpose since he's got all of 2019 booked for that and I'd rather he delay than have a dry period.
Taliax none (name only)
I just finished reading The Rhithmatist yesterday, so as much as I love the Cosmere, I would be perfectly fine with Rhithmatist 2 being in there. I really do hope the random novella is Cosmere, though. Still, I'm one of those people who really just wants Nightblood. ^^;
Toaster Retribution he/him
I look forward to Apocalypse Guard, and I think we should be happy about tye steady stream of content we have received, and will receive. Besides, one of the short-stories being Cosmere is quite likely. And theorizing from Oathbringer will probably keep us busy for years. The only thing that saddens me is the long wait until we get to learn who Trell is.
fabioke
No Cosmere book in 2018, this is your chance GRRM or Rothfuss....
Martin4os
Really bummed that there is no w&w4 squeduled for next year. I can understand his reasons but spending to much prime writing time on a side project is a bit of waste. It should have been AG book as a break from writing the important ones, but as i have said before, i believe the contract for AG publication dates is far more rigid than the TOR ones

Brandom just believes in finding a balance of giving fans what they want, writing what he wants to write, and writing because he genuinely enjoys it. Scyora she/her
At first, I was quite disappointed, that Wax & Wayne 4 was pushed back a year (compared to last State of the Sanderson). I had planned reading a Cosmere book each month, then I'd get to Wax & Wayne 4 when it comes out. I ruined this plan by reading Mistborn Era 1 all in August. But even then it would have worked, stretching the short works a bit. But now, if I look a i a different way, it's not that bad. It only means I can get into non-Comere a bit earlier. And for Legion 3: Can't wait for it!
