Stormrunner1730 Posted August 14, 2017 Posted August 14, 2017 (edited) I'm not sure if there's a previous topic on this, but do we know what Odium's form of Investiture is/does? Is voidbinding based on surgebinding, or is it completely different? Or am I way off base in how I'm think of Odium/The Voidbringers' Investiture? Edited August 14, 2017 by Stormrunner1730
Nathrangking he/him Posted August 14, 2017 Posted August 14, 2017 There is a WoB from last year which confirms Voidbinding as an independent magic system which has yet to be seen.
+Extesian he/him Posted August 15, 2017 Posted August 15, 2017 Yep, though note the term 'mostly' Quote Q: Shards. Are the ten orders of the Knight Radiants related to specific gods? Because Honor, child of Honor-Kaladin B: So all the magic on Roshar, all the surgebinding on Roshar, is going to have its roots in Honor and Cultivation. Um... There is some Odium influence too, but that’s mostly voidbinding, which is the map in the back of the first book.
StormblessDave Posted August 15, 2017 Posted August 15, 2017 Yeah and we already have seen the parshendi bond with voidspren at the end of Wor and edgedancer(after everstorms)
Stormrunner1730 Posted August 15, 2017 Author Posted August 15, 2017 Gotcha. So it's mostly independent with influence from Honor and Cultivation's respective magic systems (I'll need to look at the map at the back of the first book again). Thanks!
