You don't know what we're trying to accomplish. You don't know much of anything at all... I have answers for you. ... Let Veil come to us. And let her find truth." They are trying to accomplish something. You don't use the word "accomplish" to refer just to gathering power and riches for the sake of having it. They are ambitious and power hungry, they are also after knowledge. They seem to jealously guard knowledge, they wanted Veil to find out what Amaram knew and then they tried to assassinate him. They were after Jasnah at a time when she was traveling to the world's libraries researching the voidbringers and tried to assassinate her multiple times. I think they wanted knowledge from Ash in exchange for Taln's location. They don't seem to have recruited her as a member and Mraize's letter indicates they know the Herald's are crazy now so it wouldn't be wise to rely on a Herald as a member. They probably wanted knowledge from her. I don't know if they are guarding a secret or if they are after something and they don't want anyone else getting to it first, so they sabotage people who know too much.

I have serious doubts about their altruism. Their higher purpose is going to be entirely self-serving.
Cameron Posted November 22, 2018 Posted November 22, 2018 My guess is that they're hunting down Shard Vessels. Their culture is similar to the southern Scadrial hunters and we know at least one member has heritage from that group. We also know that after Sazed ascended the southern nations on Scadrial suffered immensely. So my guess is that from that a splinter group (possibly supported by Kelsier) decided to start hunting down Shards or trying atleast. I believe there's a WoB somewhere saying their goal is not dissimilar from 17th Shard, who are hunting Hoid, who himself is trying to stop certain Shards.
Journey Before Pancakes Posted November 23, 2018 Posted November 23, 2018 I mean I think it's pretty obvious that Kelsier's new crew, the Ghostbloods, are trying to get all the shards so that Kelsier can become Adonalsium. It's just a bunch of heists. (this is pretty tongue in cheek; but at the same time it's the only logical conclusion.)
