The Inhumans have been pitched as "Game of Thrones in Space," and a television show about political and cultural intrigue in the Marvel Cinematic Universe could be neat.

It *is* pretty neat, but I'm doing it mainly for Lockjaw, Karnak, Black Bolt and the Terrigen Mists.
Modal Seoul he/him Posted March 8, 2017 Posted March 8, 2017 I'M EXCITED! But, really I am. The Inhumans are one of the most underappreciated groups in Marvel, but to see them come to life makes me cry. Triton and Gorgon, anyone?

Except almost none of the Agents of Shield stuff will probably end up actually effecting the show, so, ya'know. There's two seasons of world building that coulda been used elsewhere

Which is why Coulson has already offered Jessica Jones a steady job as an inestigator for Shield, right? Eh, the Inhumans have had a weird road. They were going to have a feature film, so SHIELD... kind of introduced some of the concepts (there is a thing called Terregensis which can turn people into Inhumans if they have alien DNA), but they weren't able to use any of the major characters (Black Bolt, Medusa, Crystal, Lockjaw, Maximus) because those guys were being saved for the movie. (That's why season 2 was set in an isolated Inhuman community, and why the Inhumans it featured were either relatively minor characters like Daisy or original characters, like Jiyang or Lincoln.) So.. there probably won't be much carry over from the stuff Agents set up.

There's also the whole mess with the X-Men, if you don't know about it. Long story very short. You know how the Inhumans in the show have a big thing with suffering from prejeduce, fantasy racism and all that? That's usually the X-Men's stick, while the Inhumans tended to be more Game of Thrones kind of characters. Now, Marvel/Disney doesn't have the rights to the X-Men. This has lead to some rather strong complains that Marvel is just turning the Inhumans into X-Men light while trying to ruin the X-men (that part mostly in the comics). This has went on to the part where Marvel seems to have reached the point where they seem to be taking the more classic aproach to the characters again. Though we'll have to see how that plays out exactly.
