Ok so we know that hoid has collected various investitures from across the cosmere: allomancy, unkeyed feruchemical metalminds ( I got that WoB ) breath, he tried to be an elantrian, and he is a yolish lightweaver. He, as of the moment, has no investitures from roshar. 

Or does he? 

What if, early on in his career, he sought out the old magic and asked to be PRESERVED or something similar to that? And so Cultivation made him able to recover from ridiculous spiritual wounds? But she also gave him a curse- he is unable to harm others? 

And now he HATES that curse. And therefore hoid and cultivation dont get along very well.

Realmatically, it would be him drawing closer to the spiritual realm, like lift is closer to the cognitive realm

Possible. Except the point that he's able to recover from most wounds doesn't mean much since we've seen similar-enough effects from at least two systems. So I don't see this as more than speculation for now. There isn't mich to support or deny it. 

Another point: Old Magic isn't anything on the level of allomancy or feruchemy. Brandon had said it's not a magic system.

Can you source that, please? Last I've seen, it's its own separate phenomenon, separate from Surgebinding/fabrial science/Voidbinding, but he's definitely counting it as a magic system.

I wasn't even counting it as a magic system. It's a form of investiture, and that might be something hoid wanted to get. Furthermore, hoids soul is WEIRD. Remember when in secret histories how it numbs kelsiers hand? That's not normal. It's not just told feruchemy going on here, this is something permanent

That's what I was referring to. I mean, I guess it's a magic system, but it doesn't appear to be a manifestation of investiture, which is what I meant. It's a "magic system" but not a magic system as the term is generally used, which is what Brandon appears to be saying, from my interpretation.

Maybe. We don't really know much about it. Nothing we've seen of it as indicated that it can grant abilities on the level of manifestations of investiture. Furthermore, your argument that Hoid's soul is weird still doesn't reallt points towards it. There are likely still numerous other magics he could have access to which give him the power and which would mess with his soul, assuming it's not just because he has a lot of powers. I'm still seeing Old Magic as doubtful as, like I said, it hasn't given any indication that it can bestow something that powerful.
