Toaster Retribution
Just noticed the similarities in the names of Bavland and Bavadin. Coincidence? Probably. Still, just thought I'd mention it, since we know that Bavadin has influence in a number of places. I remember Tyn and Shallan talkibg about bavlanders sounding like they have rocks in their mouths, and sand is technically small rocks. And who is the shard of Taldain? Bavadin. I dont believe this myself, but Im throwing it out for the fun of it. If someone can find something about wierd religions in Bavland, that would be kind of interesting though.
chsy83
Was just wondering about this. Also Bavadin has had dealings with rayse in the past, so . . . Maybe?
Darkness
I vaguely recall someone asking Brandon this and he said it had to do with linguistic similarities derived from the root language of the shards (from yolen). The same as Shash showing up as a number on Roshar and a letter/character in Elantris.

He also said that with the number of cultures throughout the cosmere, there will be small overlaps in places.
