Szmit Posted January 17, 2017 Posted January 17, 2017 I've made this topic to theorize about possible ways to synergize few of magic systems, to get something avesome. One of my ideas is a recipie to make new pseudo- sprens. We have seen spren enclosed in rorsharian spheres, and we know that Nightblood is as powerfull as a Radiant Spren. So what if we took a sphere, a 1000 breaths and say something like "bind things together" (honorspren intent) while imagining a spren inside that sphere? Mabye we could even bind with it? And one step further: use words "preserve", "cultivate", or "ruin". We could get a ruinspren! And why is it good? Imagine that you bond with it, I bet that only help of shard can make you a better hemalurgist. (Plus we could have an hemalurgist-protagonist. Kind of.) Other is hack to hemalurgy. Use soulstamp to make a trait, and steal it before it goes away. Why is ti good? Because I belive that a soulstamp could change a metal that misting is capable of burning. How easy it would be to be able to make compounder with that? 1

For the first one, i doubt it's going to be that easy, but it probably is within the realm of possibility, though remember that you are making this Spren using Endowment's investiture, which means it would be some sort of endowment Spren, unless you manage to change the type of the investiture first. For your second idea, we've got a WoB somewhere that it would be possible to steal someones soul-stamped trait in this way, however, stamping someone to be a misting is considered to be almost impossible (changing someones metal would possibly not be as difficult though). Anyway, these are some nice ideas you've come up with. 1

Sanderson said that it would be impossible because of amount of investiture. If you change metal amount stays the same, so If you have good enough soulstamper I think you could do that at least for a few minutes, to stab him... And about changing Endowment's investiture, I think that is exactly what awakening does - giving new intent. Look at nightblood - he doesn't seem verry giving... Although theese pseudo-sprens would definitely be somewhat corrupted. But on Rorshar you still could bond with them, and seeing Nightblood, I think Ruinspren would be just fine.
Thanatos Posted January 17, 2017 Posted January 17, 2017 Good theory, could be Kelsier!! All throughout Secret Histories both Preservation and Ruin said Kel was more of Ruin than Preservation. And Kel was Mistborn!!! What about now with Kel resurrection? Interesting theory.

Recently I was thinking about it, what if SH Kelsier had gone to Roshar?, we know that it is possible to bond with a Cognitive Shadow, He may use hemalurgic to be partly in the Physical and partly in the Cognitive, so an unlucky proto-radiant may bond with Kelsierspren, he would get the surges of Surviving and Killing Noblemen(Kaladin would have loved that), with the side efect of being annoying . 3
