This is gonna be kinda long, so I'm gonna put each thing into a spoiler box.

Magic Systems:

Spoiler

Truefist:

Spoiler

Truefist is the technique used by the warrior monks of Aia to channel their soul outside of their body. By focusing their souls through a series of tattoos on their body, the monks transform their spirits into physical constructs. These constructs can be used in a variety of ways, including but not limited to: combat, healing, construction and shielding. However, prolonged channeling of the soul becomes progressively more difficult, as it desires to be one with the body.

Source:

Drawn from Melthi (See Artifacts: Melthi)

Primer:

Tattoos inscribed on the body

Ability Level:

Pertains to the strength of the soul and its resonance with the Source.

Targets:

Objects within the Mundane.

Bodily Effects:

Consistent use of the Truefist can lead to erosion of the body, decreasing physical capabilities and eventually leading to death.

Truesight:

Spoiler

Discovered and perfected by the Judex of Aia, Truesight allows one to attune them self to the Cosmic realm, which allows them to see the souls of others, discover lies, and percieve the use of magic. Upon further progression with Truesight, a Judex can discern emotions and even see records of murders committed by the target.

Source:

Drawn from Melthi (See Artifacts: Melthi)

Primer:

Ring with special insignia which is on one's soul

Ability Level:

Same baseline skill, but progression yields more power.

Targets:

One's Spiritual resonance

Bodily Effects:

Instantaneous brain death can occur through overuse of Truesight due to one's resonance shifting entirely to the Cosmic, with their soul moving on. Short of this, eyesight begins to fail over time, leading to blindness.

Traveling:

Spoiler

By pinning two points in space through the Cosmic, one can achieve nearly instantaneous travel. Travelers can open portals anywhere within their field of vision. Travelers are people who have achieved the necessary connection with the Avatar of Movement.

Source:

The Avatar of Movement (See Avatars)

Primer:

None necessary, due to direct connection to Avatar of Movement.

Ability Level:

(Almost) All Travelers have the same strength.

Targets:

Two points in the Mundane.

Bodily Effects:

Immobility when opening the portals.

Artifacts:

Melthi:

Spoiler

The dagger used by the Father to cut the Universe from nothing, and used by the Wanderer to rend the power of the Son and shatter the world into the Multiverse. It currently holds the depowered Son within it.

Power:

Acts as a sort of conduit for all the energy in the universe. Depending on the intent of the wielder, Melthi can do things such as create the universe, bind away someone's powers, build a castle, or destroy the universe. However, the implications of such actions are not always apparent.

Bondrings:

Spoiler

Used by the Judex to shift their resonance to the Cosmic. Contains an insignia which is representative of the soul of the bearer.

Tattoos

Spoiler

Ancient symbols which have been found to release the power of the soul. Not much is known about them currently.

Avatars:

Spoiler

Act as the fulcrum of a certain concept or aspect of reality. The Avatar of Death represents death, and as such has complete control over it. The power of Avatars are drawn forward to be used in magic systems.

Important Avatars(relating to the cosmic drama)

Spoiler

The Father:

Spoiler

Creator of the universe and everything that exists within it, the Father represents absolute power and the entirety of reality. The enormity of his power makes him impossible to channel.

The Son:

Spoiler

Created from the Father, the Son is a force of Absolute change. His power is tied to the fabric of the universe and as such he  is the most powerful thing in the universe besides the Father. He is channeled in around 9 forms of magic, two of which are Truesight and Truefist. Currently, the Son is trapped within Melthi, as per the intent of the Wanderer. Due to his incredible power, a single limit was placed upon the Son, his mortality. He was born as a human and will die as one. However, within Melthi, he is immortal, as it is outside normal space and time.

Other Important Figures:

Spoiler

The Wanderer:

Spoiler

The human twin brother of the Son, the Wanderer bound his brother into Melthi after the Son lost control of his powers. Currently, he is trying to find a way to undo the creation of the Multiverse and gain the powers of his brother. The Shattering of the universe enhanced his Traveling abilities, allowing him to move across universes and Travel while in movement.

the concept is great my only suggestion would be maybe some more magic systems (maybe even make this specific to some monasteries ) sorta like sel , aprt from that it is only an early draft but it seems great

I guess I didn't really make it clear, but these are not all the same world. While the first two are on the same world, the third is not. And in canon, the monks have been defunct for many years.

So you're building your own Cosmere?

I guess you could say that.. But its more like they don't bleed into each other naturally. They get forced together by beings who have knowledge of the universe.

Still, I applaud your ambition. I'm kinda trying the same thing, and it's not easy. That's what makes Brandon special.

I like how you've built this mythology for the universe as a whole. It would be interesting to see how different worlds remember different versions of the story, and why. Maybe the Judex of Aia have an inflated view of Melthi's importance, because that's the one piece of the mythos that they interact with. (Maybe it was hidden on their planet for safekeeping, and magic systems just grew around it.)

Melthi has a very special place in the cosmology, however. It's such a huge Deus Ex Machina that I can't exactly have it lying around on a word where someone might find it (pretty rusting good idea by the way). But I get your meaning. I have some stuff like that with not only magic systems but also with cultures and stuff(they were all one interconnected universe for a while).

Also thanks for the kind words! :D Brandon is special because he can make something like this work. I actually began thinking of something like this before I even read Brandon, but I did copy some stuff off of him to make things run smoother.  I would really like to see some of your stuff some time!

Yeah, the Cosmere works so well, it's hard not to reuse some of Brandon's ideas. No one else has really done it, so we only have one role model. I think this is how new fantasy authors felt about Tolkien, a few decades ago.

Some day, once I get my ideas in order, I'll post a thread like this one. Good stuff!

This is more thought out than mine, I have a couple of ideas right here. I don't have a story attached yet so it is just a magic system
