There are lots of fantastic series out there that release a book ever year or two and the authors seem to care about their fans. If a publisher does not see great sales they will drop a series. I've been reading The Expanse series written under the name James SA Corey. These books are amazing and are all between 500-600 pgs and have been released every year (currently 6 books out of 9 are out) Yes, it is very important to support our authors and I did buy the hardcover already (just haven't read it yet).
