Faceless Mist-Wraith he/him
This is a joke theory, and is not meant to be taken seriously. However, if by some miracle it does turn out to be correct, I reserve the right to say I knew it all along. I came up with this when I was thinking about the chronology of the Cosmere. Currently, most of the stories released that have been based in it have been released in chronological order. This got me thinking about the Dragonsteel series, and how it is slated to be last, despite supposedly being first chronologically. I realize that this is probably because it would reveal too many secrets if it was actually first, but I came up with an alternative theory: it actually is chronologically last...from a certain point of view. What if Hoid isn't, as we have been lead to believe, the student in The Liar of Partinel but the teacher who dies? What if the real Hoid knew the Shattering was going to happen as a result of his student, and traveled to the future in order to fix it? Essentially, he would do everything he could to stop whatever disaster is coming, and then travel back to the time before the Shattering to die, as we see in TLoP. This could explain why Hoid is Brandon Sanderson's favorite character. Real Hoid would essentially be the reddest of herrings, inspiring tons of theorizing because everyone would naturally assume he is the student that takes up the name. Brandon wouldn't be able to explain this without giving away the big twist. The big reveal would then be that Hoid has in fact been dead the whole entire time, and the person we've been seeing is just his past self correcting his student's future mistakes. The Dragonsteel series would then show the new future/past of the Cosmere.
Pagerunner he/him
An interesting idea, and it would be a fun twist. However, Dragonsteel isn't being saved 'til (almost) last because of secrets - in another life, we might have finished Dragonsteel already.
Hemalurgic Headshot he/him
Because this is so random and has barely any evidence, it is still plausible. However, I'd be a bit annoyed if everything I had read, dreamed about, pondered over, etc, technically didn't exist because it had been erased by Hoid messing with time.
