Ammanas
So ever since I heard Darkhor the first thing I thought of was Dachau. Does anyone know If Brandon was inspired to name the monastery after the real life place of terror? The names seem to close to be a coincidence to me.
Jondesu he/him
I wouldn't be surprised, but I don't think I've seen it brought up. Good thinking!
LHC20
Well Dakhor itself is as far as I know primarily an other magical system on Sel like the Dor, no location (at least the monks can use it whereever they want to). Yes I know that you probably meant the monastery, at least I'll assume that ^^ I for one very much doubt that Dakhor monastery and Dachau have anything in common except the first 2 letters and people dying there (Dakhor monastery deaths were caused through training or sacrifice to acces Dakhor afaik, so I assume very minor numbers in comparison to the tens of thousands who were systematically killed in Dachau).

Actually we don't know...we never saw how powerful a Dakhor may be in homeland when they use their attive powers. Their anatomy is improved by magic and probably they are more powerful than humans also without Dor. Anyway, returning to the Dahkor's word...I always thought it was something like D(arkh)or...at the time I searched the world "arkh" and google traslator give him as "malicious". "Malicious Dor" was enough for me....but your monastery idea is interesting
LHC20
They are most definitely stronger and faster than humans, also their bones are near indestructible by normal means (swords, punches whatever). The translation of Dakhor to malicious Dor would make sense if the phrase 'arkh' was actucally part of it and not D'akh'or. Also Dominion itself, which I think is the Shard fueling Dakhor or at least has the strongest connection to it, isn't malicious. In the case of Dakhor Monks the Domination aspect could be that they 'dominated' (could also be devotion to some cause) their sDNA or mind and thus changed their physical shape through altered selfperception (twisted bones forming ancient fjordell letters -> Connection to a region) in conjunction with the responsible Shards investiture... (This last paragraph was a bit messy, but I hope I made myself roughly clear ^^)
