Jazzy Kandra she/her Posted September 15, 2016 Posted September 15, 2016 I really need better names for my topics. Anyway, one of the better-known theories out there right now is that Harmony's pool is in the mountains (SoS). I agree with this, but... I also think there are more pools on Scadrial, or at least there might be another possible location for a on Scadrial Perpendicularity. In Alloy of Law, Marasi mentions this in the narrative when thinking about the Field of Rebirth: Quote They were paralleling one of the great spoke-canals that divided the eight parts of the city. She’d seen reproductions of pages from the Words of Founding, which had included drawings and plans for Elendel, though the name of the city had been chosen by the Lord Mistborn. There was a large round park at the center where flowers bloomed year-round, the air warmed by a hot spring underneath. The canal spokes radiated from it, extending out into the bountiful hinterlands, and the river divided around it. ~172, The Alloy of Law That sounds a little...super natural, even for a hot spring, but if it's a hell of a lot of Investiture (or an Invested hot spring pool) that sounds natural. It also fits with the basic, especially Elendel, being particularly blessed by Harmony. Plus, that hot spring would be located under the Field of Rebirth, which is also the location of the kandra homeland (and Ruin's 'old' Shardpool because the pits are also there), meaning that the servants of Harmony could guard Harmony's (or Ruin's?) Shardpool and chose who comes in and who comes out, however, I feel there are probably more ways to get in than just this one pool in Elendel... (I'll say more later, but I'm not feeling great...) xD
Savanorn he/him Posted September 15, 2016 Posted September 15, 2016 Yeah. That makes lots of sense. I think there was a WoB about this. The reason for the Elendel basic being so fertile was because it was over a shardpool. I think it also talked about the shardpool on Nalthis.
PallonianFire he/him Posted September 15, 2016 Posted September 15, 2016 I would love to see that WoB. I can't find anything on Theoryland like that.

There is this WoB, which says that Sazed created the Elendel Basin as a center for life. It doesn't say how it is a basin of life, though I have been under the impression that he just created really fertile soil and set up all the necessary resources for advancement in that area. It's possible though that there is a shardpool, though nothing is stated. 1
PallonianFire he/him Posted September 15, 2016 Posted September 15, 2016 Yeah, I just got the impression that he made it a sort of Fertile Crescent-type area. Somewhere conducive to life as a result of the ecological and meteorological peculiarities of the area. Big river running through, coastal, protected by mountains, etc. 1

Beg your pardon, I appear to have misremembered. I must have confused the two a little in my mind. 13 hours ago, Spoolofwhool said: There is this WoB, which says that Sazed created the Elendel Basin as a center for life. nervousnerd he/him Posted September 16, 2016 Posted September 16, 2016 Sazed could have created the Basin to be an eden through very natural means (for the magical 1/8th god that is). While I think that it is possible for the shardpool to be involved, I'm not sure how smart it would be to put the shardpool somewhere easily accessible. Kandra are not ideal guards as they do not want to kill humans. 1
Djarskublar he/him Posted September 19, 2016 Posted September 19, 2016 It's just like the Well if this is the case. Hidden right in plain sight so that people hunting for it elsewhere will never find it. You don't need guards for something nobody knows about. Worldhoppers would know, but they will get what they want done anyway, with or without guards.
