Farnsworth Posted October 26, 2016 Posted October 26, 2016 (edited) I'd recommend turning to Sci-fi, because other fantasy books just don't compare. Asimov is the best I think, and he also does interconnected series like Sanderson, so there is some reading in between the lines, but it's very logical, so there's less. Gibson is pretty good to if you like darker stuff. @Krandacth I read Thomas Covanant at 12, so I'd say that although it's dark, it's okay. But then I also Song of ice and Fire at 13, and here I am staying up late to post on the nerdiest site in the world, so maybe those books screwed me up more than I thought. Rasarr she/her Posted October 26, 2016 Posted October 26, 2016 I wouldn't say there's no good fantasy after you've read Brandon - I know we all love him here, but there are many other authors out there who are also good. To give an example, I've recently been reading Miles Cameron's Traitor Son Cycle. I'd definitely recommend that. Magic is little more than passable, but the plot and characters are just awesome.
