Any old ideas you want post? Here are some of mine: A religion that is based around organs, A organization called "The Brotherhood of the Wandering Light" who worship a God that is said to be dead/lost and are on a quest to kill all who defy their God and return the God to it's former glory, A magic system based around potential energy, and (in the "Brotherhood of the Wandering Light" universe) a magic system where a person's body slowly turns to the element of magic they use (Ice magician's body would turn to ice.) that is controlled by the god that The Brotherhood of The Wandering Light worships (the god is partially insane).

Lots of eldritch abomination and Lovecraftian aspects there I see
