Question

Just something that's been in the back of my mind since I started my reread/relisten to the Final Empire series....

When Vin pushed TLR's Atiumminds from his arms she was at what we've dubbed on the forums "Mistpoint", burning the mists to the peak of an Allomancer's potential minus ascending to being a Vessel.

However, once they were out, she no longer held the mists (As far as I recall, don't have the book or the audiobook in front of me at the moment...)

Yet she was able to Push on TLR's Atiumminds without them, despite the fact that they SHOULD have been Invested to all Braize, especially if they WERE the Bands of Mourning.

Just wondering if we have any thoughts/explanations? Maybe Vin still held the mists or a fraction of them, and I'm just forgetting, but it seems like a continuity hiccup with metalminds being hard to sense/push on, or them not being Invested, the Bands.... Though considering they were definitely Atiumminds, they should have been Invested.

The "TLR's BoM" doesn't never exist. They was simply Metalmind with a lot of attribute but I don't think He keep them full (he was famous to be the one who wear metal while all the nobles were afraid of).

His Atiumind of course are an exception. Nobody see that (they were hidden) and pierced his flesh as extra protection.

Vin ripped from him only the Atiumind and as you wrote she uses the "mistpoint" power to affect those metalmind in TLR's flesh. But once out of his flesh. it was more easy to affect, much more probably they weren't full at all. TLR expended tons of Youth to stay alive and He was interrupted in his "recharge time".... The TLR's AtiuMind were still Invested but a good Stellpush may affect them

True, I didn't think they were the Bands of Mourning in the same Magic Hack way the Sovereign's Spearhead was, but if I recall correctly, didn't an epigraph or conversation in WoA or HoA explain that TLR's Atiumminds were actually lots of different metals, with very little Atium in them?

That would suggest that they were a proto BoM, not giving powers but all kinds of metalminds in one handy-dandy set of bracers. TLR would definitely have lots of health stored up in them too, though I dunno how much a Fullborn Compounder would actually need to survive spear stabs, he HAS been flayed, burned and beheaded, so I imagine he'd have a lot stored up, just in case.

He also moved with Ferechemical speed when fighting Marsh and Vin, so he had SOME attributes stored in them. So how drained must they have been for a non Duralimin or Mist enhanced Vin to be able to push them, even out of his body?

Yeah but they were different Metalmind stick together. It would be wasy to push as the less invest of them.

Once the "weak" metalmind is pushed the other follow the moviment.

Vin literally just got fueled by preservation which allowed her to push Rashek's band. That's practically due to the power of shard and you have to remember that Shards are the source of investure that is used for fuel for the magic which also means it's also the fuel that is used from the Bands that Rashek has.

The bands are nothing special but atium bracers that have tons of investure period. That means nothing if a shard wants to move it, it will move.

The funny part is that he wasn't even "fighting" Marsh and Vin, he didn't consider that fighting if he actually fought them they would not last 5 seconds. Rashek has been storing nonstop for around 1000 years + compounding so he could've fought for a very long time tapping feruchemical speed nonstop he wouldn't even drain a fraction of it. The speed he used in that fight is literally nothing.

What's interesting, is that the bracers contained very little atium in them. Unfortunately, to this day we do not know what else was there. We don't even have confirmation that TLR was actively using nicrosilminds!
