ParadoxicalZen he/him Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 Just finished a reread of SH and right before Kelsier arrives on the Island, he makes an internal comparison to Fuzz's tendril-wisp, likening to the string that guides you home from the maze of Ishathon. Obviously it is a nod to Theseus and the Minotaur story, but I can't see any mention of the maze or Ishathon in Mistborn. Anyone have any thoughts/ideas
Argent he/him Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 I don't think it's been mentioned before. I think it's likely a writing technique that gives you a little bit of worldbuilding without directing telling you about it (e.g. we already know a story about a maze and a string, so we draw immediate parallels between Ishathon and it). 2
ParadoxicalZen he/him Posted August 9, 2016 Author Posted August 9, 2016 Aye, that's what I thought. Odd, especially as it's in a cosmere-heavy book too.
