I'll try to hide my spoilers, but the fact is, if you haven't read Emperor's Soul, just don't read this thread. And then read Emperor's sould, because it's a great book.

When Allik Neverfar is using his connection Medalion to speak in the language of Elendel, he says that it will not work if one of the others wears it. He says that it has to be the person visiting. He says that "The visitor always has to wear the medallion, It's filled with Connection, yah? Bland Connection, to no place. But Connection can't just be connected to nothing, so when you tap it, it reaches out and connects you to the place where you are. Makes your soul think you were raised in this place instead, so your language changes"  This sounds very much like Emperors Soul,

When she stamps herself so that she remembers being a warrior, and changes her past so that she can fight really well. She changes her past here, as if she existed in a certain land.

The medallions are very much similar to the Sel magic.

Well Connection is a core part of Cosmere's Realmatic Theory and it is very important in many many cases.

Just to be more clear. It isn't Medallion Tech to be similar to Soul Forgery. It's a Ferring Ability to have core working similar to Soul Forgery.. Every Durallumin Ferring (Connector) or Full Feruchemist may do this (but in W&W's Era no Connector discovered it, probably because they live in a very limited area).

Another example of Connections change by magic, it's the Lerasium. The Allomantic lerasium's power is to "rewrite your Spiritweb", becoming a Mistborn it's just a default outcome when you don't try to perfore anything while you burn it (because to default the Lerasium rewrite your Connection to Preservation more strong)

Medallions are similar in this area to Soul Stamps, @Yata, because they are applied to someone without their own magic to use. A ferrying could change their own Connection, sure, but with a medallion, like with a stamp, someone else's Connection can be changed.
