There exists a Word of Brandon where someone asked him if Scadrial had waffles.  His answer was yes.

Nothing special. Just an old inside joke. Scadrial's an earth analog world and Shivertongue likes waffles, hence, waffles confirmed on Scadrial. At least at some point in its history.
