Oversleep
Do we even know why Elantrians look like that? I can understand why they glow; they're channeling Dor constantly. But why their skin is "metallic silver" and not, for example, gold? Why their hair is "brilliant white"? We know why all spren default to swords if they die - because they patterned after Honorblades. We know Returned shapeshift to their Cognitive image of their "godlike self". I say that Aona looked like that. What are your thoughts?
Landis963
I always assumed (given how the dark-skinned Galladon looked like "burnished iron" afterward) that the Dor-light was constantly shining from every cell, washing out whatever their original skin tone was until it was reduced to "silver." Yata
If I don't remember wrong someone asked to Brandon if Stormlight's glow, the Misty effect of an Allomancer in certain circustance and Elantrian's glow are all based on the same phenomenom (Investiture leaking) and he answered that Elantrian's glow is more phosphorescent in nature and less "energy leak"... I don't know if this may help you
Magestar
I thought it had something to do with that fungus that was on everything. I could be wrong.
Yata
The fungus growed on Elantris because the city glows and the fungus fed of the light. It's the reason of the dirt during the Reod. The Fungus without Elantris's glow died.
