So, I was listening to the Hamilton soundtrack the other day, as I often do, and I just couldn't help mapping the characters to SA characters. (And yes, yes, I know these are far from perfect connections, that's not the point.)

  • Toral Sadeas = Thomas Jefferson (aka Jeffeas)
    • Major but not primary antagonist
    • Slave owner who supported the institution of slavery and whose wealth and political prestige relied upon it
    • Creates a political divide that separates the newly unified nation into two major camps
    • Got himself assigned to an extremely important political post, and then suddenly resigned it so he could run for a higher position
  • Dalinar Kholin = George Washington (aka Dalington)
    • General turned statesman
    • Used military might to create a nation
    • Tries to unify his nation despite it being composed of states/princedoms that are often at odds
    • Father figure
    • Believes everyone around him is working toward the same goals as he is
    • Wants to resign his position the whole time
  • Kaladin = Alexander Hamilton (aka Hamildin)
    • Rose to political power from a lowly birth
    • Extremely passionate, headstrong, and often acts without thinking
    • Opposes slavery
    • Leads rebellions
    • Father/son relationship with Dalington, but not actually related
    • Military leader under Dalington
    • Strongly opposed to Jeffeas
    • Non-stop
  • Sylphrena = Eliza Schuyler/Hamilton (aka Sylza)
    • Cheerful
    • Comes from an important family
    • Forms a bond with Hamildin
    • Totally burned by Hamildin, nearly destroying their bond, but forgives him in the end
  • Moash = Aaron Burr (aka Murr )
    • Close friend of Hamildin early in the story
    • Thinks Hamildin needs to be more cautious and stop rabble rousing
    • Meets Hamildin when they were both in the military
    • Obsessed with rising to power and becoming upper class (wants to be in the room where it happens)
    • Often bides his time
    • Gets an opportunity to rise to power because Hamildin is ruined by his betrayal of his bond to Sylza
    • Often opposed to Hamildin's political views
    • Feels betrayed by Hamildin and, in the end, fights him
  • Elhokar Kholin = King George (aka Geokar)
    • Terrible king who none of the other characters in the story care much for
    • Super privileged
    • Poor rule leads to riots and rebellion
  • Adolin Kholin = John Laruens (aka Jolin)
    • Fights alongside Hamildin
    • Duels an arrogant military commander for insulting Dalington
    • Supports the lower class
  • Meridas Amaram = Maria Reynolds (aka Mamaram)
    • Part of a conspiracy
    • The reason for the strain between Hamildin and Sylza

I got a bit stuck after that point, with just a few major Hamilton characters left. I couldn't figure out who best works for Marquis de Lafayette, the foreign military leader who is close friends with Hamildin and whose genius and support allow the protagonists to succeed, and then goes off to participate in a rebellion in his own land. I keep wanting to map him to Shallan Davar, but it just doesn't fit. And then there's Angelica Schuyler/Church and Hercules Mulligan... Oddly, I could map Shallan to all of those remaining characters, since she's also both witty and a spy.

Storm it, I'm out of upvotes and I haven't even upvoted anything today! I can't wait to see where this goes. (I just listened to "Hamilton" for the first time recently.)
