Argent he/him Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 The new White Sand graphic novel preview reminded me something I forgot to think about as I was reading the manuscript: when Drile tests for Sand Mastery one of the Sand Masters calls him "a profitable catch in more ways than one" in reference to Drile being the "son of Reenst Rile." What's this extra profit I am missing?
Master Elodin Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 I think that it was his mastering ability and his fathers connections.
Argent he/him Posted April 27, 2016 Author Posted April 27, 2016 Right, what connections are those? Or, rather, how could they have benefitted the Sand Masters?
Pathfinder Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 Right, what connections are those? Or, rather, how could they have benefitted the Sand Masters? I did a word search for both his first name, last name and both combined and that seems to be the only place he is mentioned. I did do a search for Drile, and it popped up quite a few times about him trying to arrange selling the sand masters out to mercenaries as guards and such. So perhaps his father has some pull there. But otherwise it looks like that was the only mention of him and had been seeded for later books. Perhaps the father seeking revenge on Kenton?
