Bowiespoon he/him Posted April 7, 2016 Posted April 7, 2016 In one particular BoM scene, wayne tries to impersonate an engineer, and way the scene was written made it almost seem like soulstamping, where the closer to the truth you were the better something stuck. Do you think Wayne unconsciously rewrites himself when he does a disguise? Yes, he could just be a good actor, but go and read the scene and tell me something didn't seem strange about the way the one personality of the engineer clicked.
Arraenae Posted April 7, 2016 Posted April 7, 2016 Your scene comes from BoM, but this is the SoS spoiler board...
Nashan’Elin he/him Posted April 7, 2016 Posted April 7, 2016 Just ask a mod to move it. Now to the theory, it honestly makes sense. Since the Cognitive Realm is based off of how things are viewed, I think Wayne could change that slightly, kind of like a method actor. As far as I remember, however, Soulstamping occurs in the Spiritual Realm, so it's a little different than that.
Landis963 he/him Posted April 7, 2016 Posted April 7, 2016 Method acting happens in the mind. Therefore, Wayne's personality shifting with his disguise can (technically) be said to be happening in the Cognitive Realm. Other than that vague technicality there's no connection.
Pathfinder Posted April 7, 2016 Posted April 7, 2016 There is also WoB that what Wayne does is mundane, not magical. He practices and gets him mind into it.
Bowiespoon he/him Posted April 7, 2016 Author Posted April 7, 2016 Your scene comes from BoM, but this is the SoS spoiler board... My bad. There is also WoB that what Wayne does is mundane, not magical. He practices and gets him mind into it. Didn't know about that. To be fair though, there's no real organization of the WoB's
