Kandra Worldhopper Found?

I just saw someone mention MeLaan in Mistborn, and it said outright that she was over 600 years old. that would match up with her being from the time of the Final Empire, and if you think hard, I'm sure you can remember that MeLaan was a female 5th generation kandra that TenSoon talked to during the time he was in a cage in the kandra homeland. Maybe, just maybe, she's the kandra worldhopper?

Aren't all the Kandra from the time of the final empire?   They haven't been given any more blessings since then.

But they could probably make more. Or someone else might have been able to figure out how to make more. Anyway, MeLaan might be the kandra worldhopper. it makes sense, and Brandon usually leaves us a way to connect the dots.

Only if they were willing to murder a few people for them, which I doubt Harmony would be willing to do. It's possible I just don't think it's likely. IIRC it was directly mentioned that they couldn't make more in era 2, though nothing is stopping say the Set from making some I suppose.

I do feel like Melaan isn't really the type though, she doesn't seem particularly more cosmere savvy than anyone else nor has she openly referenced anything that I can think of that's a hint. Then again she might just not have started worldhopping yet.

There's not really that much evidence, all Kandra are at least ~300 years old, so age isn't really the factor here. Also, I'm preeeeetty sure that MeLaan said that they hadn't made any more children to Wax, citing lack of spikes as a cause.

yeah all the actual Kandra are something between 300 and 1000 years old(the 3rd generation like TenSoon) and they could make new Kandra (If they may give life to new Mistwraths) but they need to murder people to creates Spikes for the new ones.

 

They can't re-use old Spikes and Harmony don't want them killing people (also if I think about some cases that Harmony may approve) anyway tha Kandra are at the moment a species pointed to the exstintion. Slowly but it's their fates without any kind of change.

They can't re-use old Spikes and Harmony don't want them killing people (also if I think about some cases that Harmony may approve) anyway tha Kandra are at the moment a species pointed to the exstintion. Slowly but it's their fates without any kind of change.

Why couldn't they re-use spikes if some of them died? So far as I know the only problem would be mixing spikes from separate blessings.

As far as I understand no because:

If you try to use Spike already "used" (also if I think it's the wrong word, maybe "binded" or "codificated" is better) from another being to overcome the Mistwrath's Cognitive-Block (therefore you may use someone else Spike as "extra spike" if you have also your own Blessings) you will experience a high pain and other Mental problems.

Like we saw in BoM with the Kandra (If I remember right VenDell) that lost one of his own Spike and can use the one of TenSoon).

If only the "mixing"  was the only problem... They may remove the remain Spike and replace with a pair taken by a dead Kandra.

 

Of course I may understand wrong how the whole relationship Kandra- Blessings works ;-)

Well we don't know if there were any dead Kandra, and if they did have a set and they did work they'd naturally make a new Kandra rather than just keep them lying around.

BoM Spoiler

All the First and Second Generation have died, they have their Spikes I suppose. At least TenSoon have the Oreseur's Spikes (And I suppose it's one of the one He gave to VenDell.

But if I have right, that Spike can't be used to create new Kandra because they are already "codificated" to another being.

Now I suppose we must return to speak out of Spoiler tag or start a new Topic about this matter.

Yes and probably also many of the Third (but about the third I am not sure) TenSoon for example is among the oldest because there isn't any Kandra from the First and Second generations
