Sunbird she/her Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 (edited) I just finished Avatar: The Last Airbender and guys. It was so. Good. So good!! ......but now what do I do with my life? Watch Legend of Korra. And read the graphic novels that cover events between the end of TLA and LoK. (First set is The Promise.) Remove it from your head with the Animaniacs version that sings all the states and their capitals! It's much better. When I was in elementary school, our music teacher taught us a song with all the states and their capitals that went in order of when each state became a state. So Delaware was first and Hawaii was last, and there were hand motions to go along. For example, since Massachusetts became a state immediately after Connecticut, while we were singing "Hartford, Connecticut," we would make a pretend teacup and saucer with our hands in preparation for "Boston, Massachusetts"--which you have to say in a hoity-toity British accent as you sip your "tea" because Boston Tea Party. Mistrunner Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 Fifty, nifty, United states! From the athirteen original Colonies! Shout em scout em tell all about em! One by one till we've given a name, to every state, in the U! S! A! That song Twi? You said the name, and it instantly started playing in my head. Thanks. I was going to write down the lyrics to the rest of the song, but it's literally just all the states in alphabetical order, and though I'm sure it would be educational to the non-American Sharders I don't think it would have quite the effect I was looking for....carry on.
Edgedancer he/him Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 Stand in the spotlight, arms outstretched, basking in the fact that the universe has finally recognized your genius. Are... are you telling me Mother God might still take me back?
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 Are... are you telling me Mother God might still take me back? Better. It's a light switch.
Edgedancer he/him Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 Better. It's a light switch. Haha, Mother God, you're my servant now.
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 Haha, Mother God, you're my servant now. I think we just wrote the sequel in which Louis metes out some well-earned justice.
Edgedancer he/him Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 I think we just wrote the sequel in which Louis metes out some well-earned justice. By constantly switching on and off the light?
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 By constantly switching on and off the light? At first. Then Father Prophet enters the room, and things take a bloodier turn.
Zathoth Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 I have no idea what you are talking about, but I heard blood so I figure this is where I appear. 1

Zathoth Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 Depends, what's your take on cultists? Useful when I need things done. Like cleaning, picking up stuff I want, covering up crimes, stuff like that.

You'd probably hate this one, though, just because of what growing up in it did to the narrator (who, by the way, is a twelve-year-old girl). My Life with the Liars. Caela Carter. It will destroy you and put your feels through a blender and you should go read it right now.

But yes, my cult is the best cult. So anyway, I actually did end up watching Buffy, just watched episode 5, which name is really good advice. You should indeed never kill a boy on your first date. That should wait until at least the fourth, or whenever you lack things that could easily be replaced by bones.

TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 Then I have some catching up to do You'll have some serious binging ahead of you. I'm on episode 11 now.
Zathoth Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 You'll have some serious binging ahead of you. I'm on episode 11 now. A part of me is kind of happy Bob got eaten, because he was really, really annoying, on the other hand he was just doing his job. He didnt strike me as one of those teachers who just enjoy having control of kids... I do, and I am pretty terrible at binging XD Shall watch 7, after a couple more chapters of The Blinding Knife...

Ugh, that scene. Super creepy. I wish Whedon had stayed away from the super-mystical-African angle (and it would've been so easy to steer clear!) but the horror element in that one was really well done. Cannibalistic teenagers and rapey Xander. And episode 11 is finished.

Poor Xander, first he almost gets eaten/egged by a She-Mantis and then he gets possessed by a hyena... One more until you are finished with the first season

One more until you are finished with the first season I liked it too, but I liked episode 3 better. I thought the writers were taking it in an "evil child who rules the roost with her magical powers" direction, and then they proved otherwise with a fantastic twist. Yeppers.

I figured out most of it pretty quickly, but I didnt see the body snatch twist coming. That one caught me off-guard.

The season finale is a 2-parter. Prepare for The Feels!

That's the one I meant. Did not see it coming, loved it when it did. Well, 2 more. The season finale is a 2-parter. Prepare for The Feels! Thanks a lot, Kaymyth. I was going to take a break and rest my eyeballs, but now I have to finish the season tonight.
Quiver he/him Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 Ya know, I've never watched Buffy. At least, not the whole series in order. I've seen enough of it that I know what happens, and I've seen most of the finales...but still. Really ought to watch it one of these days... (I was a big fan of Angel, though I'll admit it's objectively less-good).
