People still die. It's what happens afterwards.) Shallan saw people dying when she was in Shadesmar, but didn't see them pop in the Cognitive Realm like Kelsier did. There are a few other things that raise questions in my mind as to the state of the afterlife on Roshar - how the Heralds keep dying and coming back, the legends about the Tranquiline Halls, some peculiar phrasing in the First Oath... I'm kidding, saying some Spren are Cognitive Ghosts is completely ridiculous! (Discounting Stormfather of course, he's a Spren and Honor's...Cognitive Ghost, apparently.) Kelsier's the only one we've had hinted at other than actual Vessels that ended up as a shadow. Yeah probably the only stable source of Cognitive Shadows is threnody with his Shades. Tien's death is what started the fuel in Kaladin, bringing him back wouldn't change that at this point, but it wouldn't provide any additions to the story besides Kaladin's happiness.
