I've been wondering about this for a while actually, but does anyone know what the root word is for 'Realmatics'?

Is it 'Real' or 'Realm'?

There are arguments for both:

On the one hand Realmatic theory deals with the structure of reality, so 'real'.

On the other hand, said reality is composed of the three realms, so 'realm'.

Knowing Mr. Sanderson's habits it could also a combination of the two.

In my opinion, almost certainly realm. Most everything in the Cosmere depends on the three Realms and their interactions.

Given the way it is pronounced aloud when Brandon is speaking, I definitely think "real" is the original root, and that the "realm" sense is an additional bonus/later development.

I believe the audiobooks that mention it pronounce it "Realm-atics." I'll admit i first read it as "Real-matics" but realm makes more sense because it's a theory about the three different realms; Physical, Cognitive, Spiritual.

Going with how English root words are pronounced/spoken/written using the near exact word template (Schematics, Thematics, etc) I would go Realm-atics, as most Cosmere savvy folk think of their reality in terms of the 3 realms

Realm would be my guess since whenever we have an annotation or WoB that someone/some magic system is particularly Realmatically aware it tends to involve the realization that there are the three realms, like when he talks about Forgery being unusually Realmatically aware and how Shai can discuss all three as a result.
