Edgedancer he/him Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 Shiny is a siscon!? Actually I don't know why I'm surprised. So, I've been reading through Portland so I can adopt Candy flame... And it is absolutely amazing. That is exemplary behaviour. Always nice to hear. Until which point in the madness have you gotten. Theirs is a beautiful rivalry, like that between peanut butter and jelly in their eternal struggle for dominance. I'm not sure if there's really that much of a rivalary between Funtimes and Nighthound. They've barely interacted since the street fight, haven't they? In other news I actually got a Quicksilver post up thanks to this surge of something I've heard referenced as productivity. What a strange feeling... Out of curiosity, is that building he coated the same one with Vondra and Shiny Sparkle inside? Summary of the situation in The Dalles so far: Arsenal: "I'm escalating the missile attack so that it's impossible for any metal manipulator to control it." Quicksilver: "I'm controlling the missile attack anyway." [repeat on loop] Not sure if appreciating or sarcasm... 1
Curious Anamaximder he/him Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 I feel something strange... The urge to actually write a Inhuman post. Weird.
Mckeedee123 he/him Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 Not sure if appreciating or sarcasm... Eh. Just noting it. If this were a tabletop RPG or something, we'd decide the outcome of situations like this with dice rolls. Since this is roleplaying only, we sort of have this. Fate's last post was definitive enough that I think it's over, actually, though there might've been some godmodding involved. Mostly, I'm just surprised that Quicksilver is that powerful. I knew he was practically unstoppable at close and medium range, but like this, he's practically Regalia except with metal. I think we just established that he could destroy buildings... the entire town, actually, in a matter of minutes.

I think we just established that he could destroy buildings... the entire town, actually, in a matter of minutes. You got a point there. Thinking about it, where did Quicksilver get all of that metal without completely destroying his hideout permanently? I mean it couldn't have been that big to stay hidden for all this time. Although, on the godmod the problem might come less from his interactions with Arsenal more from the rather significant amount of time where the other flight capable Epics in close vicinity did absolutely nothing. I mean Deathwish alone should be capable of smashing him up there rather easily or Frostfire messing with a rockets flight path to just have it crash into Quicksilver.
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted March 4, 2016 Author Posted March 4, 2016 So what's the plan with Vondra and Shiny? Is he going to send her out, or dismiss her so he won't have to deal with her sparkles?
Blaze1616 he/him Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 Edit: Sorry about the near-blank post above, my mistake. I have just had a though: most forcefields work by simply being an invulnerable object, and while his forcefields have the similar indestructibility, he can cause them to have a different effect if he wills it, to cancel kinetic momentum that hits them. This way he could catch a falling ally without injuring them, capture enemies whiteout injuring them, and use this feature to make sure he doesn't splat while moving fast, as when he hits the inside of the forcefield it would simply dissipate the kinetic energy. I did consider having this be the main facet of his power, but then his fields should not be an effective melee weapon. I don't think absorbing KE is necessary. Given his perfect control of the fields in 3D space, he'll be capable of doing all those things with practice as his powers are described now. Plus we've already got a KE absorbing force field user over in the Dalles.
Edgedancer he/him Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 So what's the plan with Vondra and Shiny? Is he going to send her out, or dismiss her so he won't have to deal with her sparkles? Kind of a good question, given that an attack on Quicksliver scale seems a bit more important than having a talk with... well Shiny. I don't think absorbing KE is necessary. Given his perfect control of the fields in 3D space, he'll be capable of doing all those things with practice as his powers are described now. Plus we've already got a KE absorbing force field user over in the Dalles. Ah yes, good old Orange Crush. Say, did you notice the pm I send you?
Kobold King he/him Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 So what's the plan with Vondra and Shiny? Is he going to send her out, or dismiss her so he won't have to deal with her sparkles? He'd be cautious about deploying her again without strict supervision and control (especially given Quicksilver's little speech there.) But yes, the battle for The Dalles definitely takes priority over trying to clear a path to sanity through that woman's sparkly mind.
mail-mi he/him Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 That was awesome. Is it my turn in the actual bus chase? Repeating this again, just in case no one saw it.
Edgedancer he/him Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 (edited) He'd be cautious about deploying her again without strict supervision and control (especially given Quicksilver's little speech there.) But yes, the battle for The Dalles definitely takes priority over trying to clear a path to sanity through that woman's sparkly mind. Understandable. Seems like it's time for Shiny to scootle then. Repeating this again, just in case no one saw it. I think the better question is if they still have time to worry about that bus, given that they should have been attacking Quicksilver like twenty minutes ago. Edited March 4, 2016 by Edgedancer
Mckeedee123 he/him Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 Ah yes, good old Orange Crush. Good ol' Orange Crush indeed. We currently have 2 force field Epics in the RP (I think.) One is in Astoria, and he can bend the fields however he wants, but can't move them. Crush is the opposite. He can move the fields but not bend them. These kind of distinctions are important, since force field summoning is, hands down, pretty much the most powerful physical ability imaginable, provided there are no limitations. I don't know about War Smasher, but the limitations on Crush include: -Limited to a casting range of 3 1/2 meters -The larger the field, the slower it can be moved -Sharp edges and complex shapes are difficult to create, requiring several seconds of concentration and need to be created very close to Crush -Can't be cast inside of solid objects, including all organic matter -Can only have one field at a time -Fields must have a surface area of at least one square foot -Fields can't be expanded contracted after casting And also: -Fields automatically move along with his center of mass, accounting for air resistance and collision with physical objects -Fields are dual-sided. One side is nearly unbreakable, the other absorbs kinetic energy -Fields are orange (obviously.) It's all pretty complicated, but it works, I guess. Basically, we gave him the abilities that I wanted him to have (summoning wedge-shaped projectiles, flying, blocking bullets and explosions) and removed the ones that I didn't care about but are implied (trapping people in a ball and crushing them, summoning a field inside a building and expanding it to tear the structure apart, city-wide range.) Just food for thought, since I haven't weighed in on this discussion yet. Based on what Bram's said, I think it might be best to make these abilities work like a sort of fluid that Calyx can summon, a sort of calcium-based blob of matter that he can control and shape and harden into practically-unbreakable walls. He can only summon it very, very, close to himself (1 meter?) but can control it in a much farther range. It decays within seconds, but he can always keep summoning more to shield and surround himself when that's the objective. I don't know. Obviously, I don't want to override whatever you had in mind, but this might be closer to what you were visualizing (?) 1
Fatebreaker he/him Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 That was awesome. Is it my turn in the actual bus chase? Yes, Quicksilver gave that whole speech as a distraction. And cause he likes to monologue Also I think Vondra is in his office, which as far as I know is still in the HQ...
Elithanathile he/him Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 Permission from comatose GET! First Seef/Falchion post should be up in a couple hours, interrupting whatever lovely action scenes are taking place. 1
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted March 4, 2016 Author Posted March 4, 2016 Great post, Bridge Boy, but would you mind putting future posts in third-person? You don't have to change this one. 1

Does that mean that Seastrider is a near omniscient demigod who has never lost a game of chess? 1
Voidus Posted March 5, 2016 Posted March 5, 2016 Clarence post 3 is up! In the last MV post the two entered the museum and are now next to the Carlisles, who probably would have seen a gun being leveled in their direction and cut off the arm holding it.
Kobold King he/him Posted March 5, 2016 Posted March 5, 2016 Oh, right! Kobold and I agreed on a time skip (approximately 4 hours). I forgot to tell you about that. I could send you pictures of the conversation, if you like. If Kobold is OK with it, I could also add you to the PM. What would you prefer? The problem is that the current post reads as if Clarence interrupted the two of them when they're still on the street before they go into the museum, which would retcon Voidus' last MV post.
mail-mi he/him Posted March 5, 2016 Posted March 5, 2016 Did anybody adopt Dragoon and his horsemen? I know Blackhoof took MM and Edgedancer Wandersail, did anyone take dragoon?
Edgedancer he/him Posted March 5, 2016 Posted March 5, 2016 Shiny Sparkle is Sora from No Game No Life? Does that mean that Seastrider is a near omniscient demigod who has never lost a game of chess? Nah, it just means Shiny is also a giant otaku. 2
Voidus Posted March 5, 2016 Posted March 5, 2016 Nah, it just means Shiny is also a giant otaku. I find myself liking her a lot more now
Edgedancer he/him Posted March 5, 2016 Posted March 5, 2016 I find myself liking her a lot more now Do you think Shiny Sparkle could withstand the lure of dating sims and harem anime? Everything else just follows from that. 2
Voidus Posted March 5, 2016 Posted March 5, 2016 Do you think Shiny Sparkle could withstand the lure of dating sims and harem anime? Everything else just follows from that. I am disappointed in her lack of reaction to seeing MV with Backtrack then, since her character at this point mostly revolves around worrying about her sister and being a walking tsundere cliche. EDIT: Also I guess now we know what Sea strider does with all the gold she collects, she and her cousin have a treasure trove of the remaining otaku culture. 1

Shiny did call her a tsundere, she was just too distracted by Autumn for more reactions.
Voidus Posted March 5, 2016 Posted March 5, 2016 Shiny did call her a tsundere, she was just too distracted by Autumn for more reactions. What kind of harem anime MC passes over a tsundere when they meet one? *shakes head in disappointment*
