mattig89ch he/him Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Hidy ho all, I just started going through the alloy of law again, curious to see what I'd notice, given my recent read of shadows of self. And I did notice something. Right at the beginning, when we first meet lessie, bloody tan is holding her with a garrot wire. and, as she was blinking her signal to wax of when to fire, tan was able to use that exact second to pull her in front of the bullet. The way it happened in the book, was just that. As she signaled wax to fire, tan pulled her in front of the shot, then wax fired. So my question is, do we think bloody tan was a kandra as well? Or do we think bleeder helped him out, but pushing herself in front of the bullet
King's Twit he/him Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 If Bleeder was not the first to digest Tan's body, then she would have had to recreate his face accurately enough for Wax to consistently pick him (or her) out of a crowd. TenSoon apparently does this fairly well with Kelsier's bones. I don't remember what was said of Bleeder's ability to shapeshift, was her skill comparable to TenSoon's? Also Tan would probably need to not have hair on at least his head, but I think I remember that being true.

Of course, he was her mentor, so she may not be fully reliable. Althought I happen to agree that Bleeder was most likely between TenSoon and everyone else. Edited January 11, 2016 by DreamEternal
mattig89ch he/him Posted January 11, 2016 Author Posted January 11, 2016 If memory serves, didn't wax only see bloody tan in passing? Also, didn't MeeLan say Bleeder was damnation good at transforming? Less then TenSoon, but only slightly less. Something about her having a rust load of experience from being the emperors pet.
Yata he/him Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 I finished SoS just some hours ago. And as I understood about Lessie's Death, Harmony made her move (She may be controlled by the Spikes) and Blood Tan (He met Marsh and probably He gave him some istructions) react as Harmony told him to do. Of couse my interpretation can be wrong
mattig89ch he/him Posted February 2, 2016 Author Posted February 2, 2016 I'm sorry, but I'm not sure what (He met Marsh and probably He gave him some istructions) react as Harmony told him to do. means. Who met who? And who gave who instructions?
Yata he/him Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 I'm sorry, but I'm not sure what means. Who met who? And who gave who instructions? Sorry, Tan met Ironeyes (Tan says that to Wax) and probably Ironeye give him some istruction or made him more willing to follow Harmony's order (Tan was mad, therefore he may listen Harmony also without a Spike).
mattig89ch he/him Posted February 3, 2016 Author Posted February 3, 2016 When does tan say he met iron eyes? I don't recall that
Yata he/him Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 When does tan say he met iron eyes? I don't recall that In the Prologue of Alloy of Law (I can't post the quote, because my book is in another language) but is something like: "I saw God, lawsman" whispered Tan. Where is he ? "I saw Death itself, with the nails in the eyesocket. I saw the Survivor, that is life" Of course this may be just word of a Madman, but we can't be sure.

I still have trouble searching for WoB, so if someone can help me out I would appreciate it, but there is a WoB where he specifically answers that Harmony did not control Bloody Tan to do what he did.
Alomantisist he/him Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 (edited) Though I am sure that is true, we cannot be certain that other forces are at work here. Why would Sanderson mention Trell at the end of both books. There is definitely something strange going on here. And I think it is a valid hypothesis that Bloody Tan is somehow a part of it. Oh I am not discounting Bloody Tan has a big part of things moving, nor am I discounting that some other force may have moved him. Just that it was not Harmony.
DreamEternal Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 Fair enough, and it was only a passing thought anyway. But it is an interesting idea. Maybe he's not a kandra. But he could have been one of those SPOILERS BIG ONES
Voidus Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 Yeah, please keep spoilers relating to Bands or Secret History to their relevant boards, only a few more days and you can just mark them with spoiler tags but until then please be careful of those spoilers.
mattig89ch he/him Posted February 8, 2016 Author Posted February 8, 2016 Sorry sorry. Wasn't thinking when I typed that
