Welcome to the Shard! I would like to warn you about cookies and possibly other baked treats offered by some members of this forum. They are a disguise for Hemalurgic spikes. If you don't have a clue what those are, they are basically metal spikes they drive into your flesh.

This has been a PSA announcement about the Dark Alley.

I just imagine a inquisitor with a spike replacing his nose. He would look ridiculous.

Hey our cookies aren't a disguise for anything, they're just more palatable than a raw spike of metal.

Also I currently don't have a nose after an experiment with trying to cross Voldemort with a flamespren. So I see no harm in attempting to offer you the standard DA welcome cookie.

Because I only had a King high at our last poker tourney and DA bets are weird.

Also I think someone was curious as to whether or not the quantum nature of spren could then let us spread him out as a probability function through all of his Horcruxes. Not sure why they were curious about it but again, the DA is a weird place sometimes.

Well he is dead at the moment so you'd be a servant of Harmony at the most and he's pretty relaxed about the whole thing so relatively little taking over of minds.

We also have a non-hemalurgic section.

You don't have to spike yourself if you don't want, but most of us find the occasional compulsion to go help a lawman in the Elendel basin to be worth having access to cosmere-wide abilities.

To gain full membership into the DA we request that our members either make a sale of cookies to someone or else post a suitably interesting theory on the natures of Hemalurgy or Investiture in general. Other than that just pop in every now and then to discuss any topics that come up, we do some Role-play with the other guilds and around the forums every now and then but it's not compulsory.

Well, if i'm supposed to say an interesting idea about hemalurgy, here is something i've been thinking about. Hemalurgy can change a human into a Koloss, can change a human into an inquisitor, and can change a Mistwraith into a Kandra. Hemalurgy is the science of change. Hemalurgical spikes change a body by giving them new powers. Hemalurgy thus has more possibility then is shown. Could the power of change be harnessed to take something away? Could we create mindless servants by taking away free will?
