Stormgate he/him Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 In WoA, Vin gets a bead of atium that is just atium covered lead. My question is, say the bead of lead were instead a bead of, say, copper. Would Vin have been able to burn the copper before the bead of atium is gone? This could have application in a Mistborn Gobstopper. 2
Voidus Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 I imagine so since Allomancers can tell what the entirety of their internal reserves are not just the surface area.
Eagle of the Forest Path he/him Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 That's sort of contradicted by Zane's trick working at all. Even with lead not being an allomantic metal, if one could detect metals encapsulated by other metals, Vin should have detected that not the entire bead was made of atium, since her reserves would have appeared smaller.

Brandon explained that she just wasn't experienced enough with Atium to notice, Atium burns so quickly that most people think they have more than they do.
Stormgate he/him Posted December 30, 2015 Author Posted December 30, 2015 Perhaps it never occurred to her to check her atium, since she knew how big it was?
