18th Shard
So thanks to the Words of Radiance chapter releases, we know spren that exhibit emotions are honorspren, spren that follow natural patterns or phenomena are cultivationspren, and then there are voidspren. I suggest the three magic systems involve bonding the three kinds of spren with a nahel bond. prhaps there are alos three spren kingdoms. hoser
Except Syl is an honorspren and reacts around natural forces: gravity and pressure, she is supposed to be related to windspren. The cryptics seem to be about mental things (cognitive?). I think there is more here that S&J will be learning along with us.
18th Shard
Perhaps Cryptics are the princes of the cultivationspren kingdoms or groups.
Swimmingly
It seems weirdly appropriate to me that honour deals with clearcut, natural forces, while cultivation deals with the tangly business of minds, illusion, healing, soulcasting etc. These all seem less streamlined but more nuanced than Gravity, Pressure, etc.
18th Shard
Actually natural forces (like gravity) were represented by spren from cultivation, and ideals or emotions (like honor) are of Honr
Aether
This might, however, be an instance of humans interpreting things wrongly. While humans attribute Emotionspren to Honour and Spren dealing with natural forces to Cultivation, the truth might actually be an intermixing between the two. Also, remember that Jasnah's research was based on extremely faulty documents, which may or may not have been heavily tampered with one way or another.
