The armies are spending enormous resources harvesting gemhearts on the shattered plains. Those gems are to be used for soulcasting. Why not just use soulcasting to create those gems? Am I missing something? 1

WeiryWriter he/him Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 It has been a subject of much debate on the reasons why, but it is mentioned in the book that it is impossible to Soulcast gems. My personal theory is that it is just a quirk of the magic system, similar to how aluminum can't be Pushed/Pulled.
