I'm kinda interested in making another character, are there any cities that need anyone?

Australia has a few cities spare if you think you could post fairly frequently?

Well, it depends. Portland and the Dalles are closed to new Epics but open vanilla characters. However, if you want to play an Epic in Portland, there are some NPCs left behind by former players could take over (I would have to check if such characters exsist in the Dalles). Astoria is still open for all kinds of characters and I'm pretty sure so is Corvallis and we could certainly find a place to put your character or maybe think of a role beforehand but I don't think any place explicitly needs a new character, so it's up to what you want

Australia sounds good. :)

Name: Lightwood

Epic Status: Low-ish Epic

Epic Powers: Plant-based powers. Can make plants, especially flowers, grow extremely quickly, even in inhospitable conditions. Mostly been used by higher Epics to grow foodstuffs. Does not need an existing plant to make something grow, but will take more time. Heightened reflexes, but other than that, no defensive powers.

Weakness:

Rhinos.  It's a long story.

Description: Long, brown hair with green eyes.

Personality: Typically subservient, as long as her powers aren't stressed.

Background: Born in the UK, Cynthia Bartlett studied plant biology at the University of Cambridge. She was studying abroad in Australia Oregon when Calamity happened. Now an Epic, Lightwood began serving under higher Epics in charge of various cities.

Pony:

Lightwood Pny

Edit: Will probably fit in where there's an Epic already ruling a city.

Regarding Salem no-one please start the next day until I have posted the Bird/Coldpin post at the end of the night.

Not much risk of that :P

Not really... why? Does my character not fit?

He's probably asking because 1)it's a bit different from the other locations and 2) you need to find in which city to put her. (I like her by the way. )

No it's not that, it's just a bit different from the other RPs.

Most players control an entire city of Epics rather than just one (Though there's nothing wrong with just having one) and there's a set game-time:real-time ratio so every week of real time is one game day (Though at the moment it's looking more like that'll be turned into two weeks:a day)

Ah. Maybe not such a good idea, then. I don't think I'm ready for that kind of RP. Perhaps Astoria or Corvallis, then.

Yeah it's a bit of a big commitment. Though unfortunately two of our players dropped out so we're a a bit short on players right now.
*Shameless plug for more applicants*

Alrighty, lemme see. Corvalis already has a major plant production Epic working for the government, so that may be a bit of a double casting, although I guess it's possible she would be used mostly for decorating purposes rather than growing foodstuff. You'd have to get into contact Comatose and maybe Voidus on that front.

In Astoria she'd actually do a pretty good job of rounding out their supply line, given that their main source of resources can't really preserve spoilables like fruit. However, as a fair warning, most Epics there are also on a very high power level. A possible plot line me and Twi have been working on with some other new players in Astoria could also possibly use an lesser Epic filling an antagonistic role, so I could refer you to them, in case you are interested.

*Gets squished by the Metal and has blood ripped from skeleton by Mary.*

"It's not looking less good."

:P

Bioterror can supplement on the speeding of plant growth too, though usually when he tries by himself he ends up killing everything so maybe not a good idea for them to team up. Also he'll probably be busy doing... something else.

So, this absolutely wan't what I planned when i gave her this habit but I realized that her collection means that Lucentia would tend to that whole evil queen "off with her head" M.O.

And the Financier sounds very much like an eccentric character Alice would meet in Wonderland.

"Off with her head!"

"Heh. Nice Wonderland reference."

"Oh, great. Now I'm being accused of being the Queen of Hearts. This is just wonderful, poor me, I don't know what I did to deserve this..."

"Hey, Phil. Let's see if we can escape while she's on a complaining binge."

Imaginary numbers, anyone?

Fun fact: Lewis Carroll (pen name for mathematician Charles Hodgson) hated what was at the time new math—things like variables and imaginary numbers—so he wrote Alice in Wonderland as a satire of this new branch of mathematics. Wonderland is a world that functions on the laws of the math he hated, which is why you'll have scenes where a cake is cut after it's served and such nonsense.

"Well, at least we won't have to listen to her."

Also cause he was a wee bit insane. :P
