Backtrack, for once, is not overreacting. And we all mourn her failure.

Voidus Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 I've been using Duolingo and it has a section on idioms but a few of them just seem to be direct translations of English idioms so I'm not sure if we just stole them (As is becoming increasingly apparent to me we did fairly frequently) or if the site is just giving translations of English idioms rather than actual German idioms.So is 'Der Tropfen , der das Fass zum Überlaufen bringt' an idiom? Or 'Eine Hand wäscht die andere?' (Apologies if I misspelled something)

Just worried for a second that if I ever tried to use them I'd just confuse people Well at least being a language thief means it's way easier to learn, my other studies are not progressing anywhere near as quickly (Though this may be because I've got at least a bit of practice in German from school)
