Forging

Can Shallan Forge things? Like, go into Shadesmar, and change a chair into a nicer chair. Would Shallan need Stormlight for that?

I'm guessing that Shallan could do something similar to Forging with Soulcasting, but it wouldn't be through the same process. She's not changing the chair's history, she's just changing the chair. And I don't think she could do somethng that refined, at least not yet. Even normal Soulcasters seem to be more along the lines of changing a substance to a different substance, rather than resculpting a substance.

I don't know, though.
