But that's not the only method for theorizing. Theorizing is finding an explanation to a fact or an event. That's it. There is no need for convincing evidence when you use the fundamental definition of the word. You don't have to give the topic or post any credibility in your mind, but don't tell people how they have to speculate when they are just speculating. Forum rules don't demand us to convince anyone.

Oh, well, OK. I am not saying one should not do that, but that it is usually important to distinguish between the conjecture, well founded hypothesis and rampant extrapolation. All are welcome, of course, but you should also be transparent about which one you are currently playing with.

Yeah, I understand. Having gone to school for Business Management, I had to do a lot of research on groupthink, and I think it is important for us to keep things open so that we don't get stuck in ruts. New users with different ideas are pretty valuable if they don't get bogged down in what long time users assume is right and wrong. Especially when it is a fictional world still being written. Nothing we "know" is certain as long as Brandon has the option to write in "Kaladin removed his mask and was actually Tien the whole time!!!!111!!" Hahaha, that would never happen, but the point remains that all of our evidence may be built on a foundation of lies. A good plot twist could bring it crashing down.

Didn't mean to jump down your throat or anything, I just think it is really important to encourage new users to freestyle on what they interpenetrated lines from the book to mean. Light knows that on the more official, legitimate issues, you are definitely a great guidance in conversation, Aether. :)

You have a good point, and I think that many of us - myself especially - should well remember that there is a place and a value in being less strict in our requirements of evidence or conjecture. Sorry, Vestis Etoris Prime Targ if I scared you off! (Cool name, by the way)

Hey Aether, no problem. Like I said, its just a wild extrapolation. Sorry to have caused such a commotion. And thanks for the bit about the name. Its the name of the villain from Nightsword (a Starshield novel by Weis and Hickman). It was an amazing series but they never finished it. :(

Dunno, it seems to me that the Cryptics are only "visible" to a select few and they exist primarily in Shadesmar (cognitive? realm). Sort of suggestive with regard to spren and stormlight. Their physical manifestation may be somehow dependant on Highstorms and Stormlight, but surely the cognitive realm isnt. it exists everywhere, right?

And since Stormlight can be neatly packaged and transported, access can be had at any point on the map

Forgive me if ive made a terrible mess of this, it made perfect sense before i typed it out. PROMISE.
