Oh dear. We're descending like vultures, aren't we?

Well, there is meat to be scavenged...

Joking aside, I'm sorry to see you go! I hope your life clears up a bit Jo.

I've been putting this off for a long time, hoping that I wouldn't need to announce this.

I'm dropping out.

I'm sorry for this, but I just don't have the time. I haven't had the time for a while now. I wish I could keep posting, but at this point, I have to drop something in my life, and the 17th shard is the least important. So it has to go.

Unfortunately, I have a lot of characters, most of whom are rather important. Corpsemaker, sightline, blackwave, gordon and the reckoners. All of them will need to be adopted or killed. Sorry for dumping this on you guys. Most of the information about them needed to play them can be found with Twi, or Edge in Blackwave's case. Do with my characters whatever you want.

Hopefully I'll eventuly return, but that won't be for at least half a year. There is so much crap going on in my life right now. If you need any more information, make a pm so that I get an email notification.

A pitty, really. Hope things get better on your side. I fear Corpsemaker will never be the same.

As for the practical side for this. I remember the one time I wrote Corpsemaker, good times. Then again there are already people that want to write him and someone needs to pick up Blackwave. I like that character but to be honest I'm not fond of already controling the government in that location and then adding another important character on top of that so I'm open if someone else wants him. Otherwise, I'll take him gladly.

I'm still waiting to see if Altermind gives Funtimes a reason to use Clippy.

Clippy shall be our savior.

ALL HAIL--

"Looks like you're trying to swear loyalty to someone. Need some help?"

This is relevant:

That was a fun BusDriver post to write. :D Mistwraith, you're up.

Who doesn't like to make people's heads explode.

Back to the other matter, anyone interested in Murphy and Streetwise or should they stay on more of an NPC level?

I wouldn't mind, I had some plans with an Epic sniper from the MEE and Murphy, just to add some Wile E Coyote style antics :P

And I did want to use Streetwise before Jo claimed him, who doesn't want an Epic named after a cheap meal from KFC? :D

No objections on my end. Wile E Coyote as an Epic sounds entertaining in particulary. :P

That's a KFC meal?  Anyway, seems like you'll discover your own character then.

The number of falling anvils in Portland is about to rise dramatically. :P

Indeed it is. I saw it once while I was getting lunch and thinking about Epics and thought it would be an awesome name, took me a while to come up with a power for it. He very nearly had the power to know when a car was approaching and look both ways before crossing the street. :P

As well as collapsing structures.

Interesting name. And now he instead got the power to know pretty much everything in the city. That's what i call an upgrade. :P

Which is sort of the opposite of what my usual process is, where I give someone what I think is a crappy power but it turns out is really strong unless you add a bunch of riders to it. :P

I have a question for you all.

The clamor for Joe's characters made me realize how very many people want to play in Portland, which I've been loathe to reopen because of the large number of subplots there, which would almost certainly be derailed by the arrival of another Epic. However, there are quite a few opportunities for vanilla characters, which would introduce their own subplots, yes; but given the lack of powers and fear-driven diabolical plans, I think vanilla characters wouldn't derail the main subplots so much as add to them. We could have characters adjusting to the Empire, to Thoughttown's state of war, or living in the Dominion--potentially fascinating stories that haven't yet been explored.

If I reopened Portland to vanilla characters only, would anyone be interested in adopting one?

Edit: And would someone fix the accidental downvote on Fatebreaker's post? <_<

I'd be for that. By the way, there are Spots open in the upcoming voidbringer squad.

And done.

I wouldn't want anymore characters but I like the idea.

Interested in any of the meat?

Apart from that, how are we going to settle the matter? Just wait for a couple of days and claimers takers?

By the way, that's the current list right?

Corpsemaker-Blackhoof (others voiced interest)

Streetwise-Voidus

Murphy-Voidus

Sightline-Mashadar Mistborn

Reckoner cell-Mailiw

Blackwave-Edgedancer (tenatively)

Anyone I missed?

Quoted in case anyone has anything to add or change.

As for how to settle it....it looks like CorpseMaker is the only one with multiple interested parties, so....how to settle that one?

Well as my list kind of implies, I'm in favour of giving him to Blackhoof. Mostly because it's a chance for someone to enter the location. Did I mention how I already wrote him once? (I'm doing a poor job out of not showing that I kind of want him myself, aren't I? :P )

Twi, could you Alan me any relevant details about Sightline, please?

I'll answer the way Bruce apparently thought I should: 12.

Let me Alan Jo first to see if there's any additional information he'd like Sightline's player to have.

I seem to remember Sightline being an anthropomorphic ibex in a realistic human costume.
