Mashadar Mistborn he/him Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 Accidental down vote! I'm sorry. I think I've read something about exposure therapy for PTSD recently.
Edgedancer he/him Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 I get the sense that Shiny's involvement is unlikely to help much... Unless it was the other party at hand that she kidnapped. Please, Shiny has full respect for love and already established relationship. She just wants to encourage people to at least consider alternative relationship models. That was my thinking, slowly introducing it as a means of exposure therapy although I don't know if they use that for PTSD type anxiety so I'd do some research first. There are no therapists after the apocalypse. So Autumn can do whatever she wants!

Keep in mind that Neverthere and Nighthound are in an alternative relationship model so they're not always something you want to look into. "Yes punching Reader in the face has long been recognized as an effective means of treating insomnia, depression and anxiety." How much does Scribbler trust Autumn, then? How long has she been talking to her and how much does she disclose? I find it hard to believe that anyone would need more convincing than "Punch Reader, feel better."
Mashadar Mistborn he/him Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 "Yes punching Reader in the face has long been recognized as an effective means of treating insomnia, depression and anxiety." Along with killing Nighthound, hitting Deathwish with blunt instruments and drowning Timeport. 1
Edgedancer he/him Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 Along with killing Nighthound, hitting Deathwish with blunt instruments and drowning Timeport. The list could go on longer, like ruining Lucentia's day, sinking Blackwave ship, slapping Quota and [DATA REDUCTED]. 1

Not sure, fairly but probably not enough to even talk about the incident let alone the connection to her weakness. She'd visit regularly, primarily to ensure Autumn doesn't notice anything about her that might indicate her turning into a more common Epic mindset. She'd be pretty open about her feelings of the present but less so about her past, though she probably would have brought up the whole kidnapping thing and her thoughts on Koschei and Epics in general as a result.

"You may not trust the scarry therapist but you can trust your big sis. Come cry into my bossom" You only get one guess who would say this. 2

Voidus Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 "You may not trust the scarry therapist but you can trust your big sis. Come cry into my bossom" You only get one guess who would say this. Lucentia?
Edgedancer he/him Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 Somehow, I don't think the Shiny Method will achieve wide acceptance in the psychological community. Hey, no one ever said that she wanted to write a paper. Lucentia? More like, "Stop whinning and don't touch me, you mongrel." 2
Voidus Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 Hey, no one ever said that she wanted to write a paper. More like, "Stop whinning and don't touch me, you mongrel." And Lucentia spent the rest of her days with a tattoo on her neck saying 'Silence'. Few people knew just who had forever muted Lucentia's incessant complaining but everyone thanked her for it. 2

She became a ruthless dictator some time after, but her people still adored her. 2

Working 16 hour days to harvest ink from the squid farm was well worth it for never having to listen to Lucentia again. 4

Kobold King he/him Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 Working 16 hour days to harvest ink from the squid farm was well worth it for never having to listen to Lucentia again. Should I be reading the last few pages before this, or is this at peak perfection without context? 3
Edgedancer he/him Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 Should I be reading the last few pages before this, or is this at peak perfection without context? Depends, are you already as drunk as a cell phone? 5
Voidus Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 Should I be reading the last few pages before this, or is this at peak perfection without context? Context would only possibly detract from the experience of complete obscurity with things like 'clarity' and 'making sense' who needs that? 1
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted October 11, 2015 Author Posted October 11, 2015 Should I be reading the last few pages before this, or is this at peak perfection without context? My plans for writing drunk!Funtimes' dialogue thrive in secrecy.
Edgedancer he/him Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 Should I be reading the last few pages before this, or is this at peak perfection without context? On a more serious note, igoring some sidetracks, we were essentially talking about getting drunk, getting help from a therapist, Scribbler dating Voidgaze's younger brother, her making sure Lucentia never talking again and everyone happily living as her slaves in graditude. You know, the usual stuff. 3

Mashadar Mistborn he/him Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 Nice Nathan post, Twi. If AlGaze wasn't already the most amazing ship in the history of amazing amazingness(channeling my inner Funtimes), then I'd be temptress to suggest a serious, well as serious as HatWards, ship for Blueberry Muffin.

Mashadar Mistborn he/him Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 Multiple ship names are allowed. (Thanks! ) So I con retain hope for...Blueberry McMuffin I guess... it doesn't quite roll off the tongue in the same way Blueberry Muffin does. Also, if you don't mind telling, how much of Funtimes's insanity is an act?
