It looks like this forum has a ton of spambot members with names like "Ay0JCgtrc7 " online whenever I log in; is this an issue?

Speaking of spam bots, is there a way we can set up a legal trap so that people who post trying to sell us stuff get charged money? Like some kind of contract we all sign when we sign up which obligates us to contribute a certain amount of money if we spam (as well as our account being shut down)?

Not really a problem, considering the spam filter autobans most of them. It expired once, not too long ago when we weren't paying attention and then it was really bad. We almost had to lock the Rithmatist board. The accounts themselves aren't a problem as most have been disabled.

Call me a psychopath, but the retributive nature of the concept, charging spammers money, appeals to me. Hmmmm. Retribution. That would make a really good Shard.

That seems like it's not worth the time or effort. I don't even know if it's possible. I sure as heck wouldn't want to be the guy who has to track down spammers, some of which seem to originate in Japan or China, and try to make them pay some fine.
