Cartith he/him Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 (edited) I looked down at the Last online area, and noticed 204 users. i was surprised, then I noticed that a lot of them have weird names, such as( and this is a direct copy/paste): Yf1BJktnw5 , Yr6CHtmkv4 , Zb1TRxetb1 , zcyawkev , zebobes, Zh2VPeovo8 , Zizoz, Zj5YCnnla0 , Zl6QWjuti9 , Zs0THmfip4 ,Zz1RWzjvh4. I am just paranoid, or is this weird? EDIT: I realize a few of those are just normal users, but the others are odd and somewhat alarming. Edited September 16, 2013 by Cartith
Miyabi She/Her Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 These are often spambots which post spam topics and replies which link to other sites. Thankfully administration keeps a tight check on these things and it is promptly removed.
Chaos he/him Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 I actually need to end up deleting those spam accounts individually, but they are banned at least.
GreyPilgrim he/him Posted September 22, 2013 Posted September 22, 2013 I don't know if this is obvious, I'm not tech-savvy at all, but what does it mean when it says search engines such as Google and Bing are online? Does it mean that site showed up in a search somewhere (basically meaning that those two are always online in the last 15 minutes)? Not important, just curious.
Chaos he/him Posted September 22, 2013 Posted September 22, 2013 In a way, yes. The way search engines work is that they crawl through the web, and when you see Google and Bing in that list, that means their scripts are crawling through the site.
