GreyPilgrim he/him Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 I'm really excited to be joining you guys here at 17th Shard! I am (obviously) a huge Brandon Sanderson fan, and have been stalking around on this site for about 9 months or so, reading all of your theories and the interviews. I found Brandon through WoT (surprise, surprise) and came to love his works just as much. I've read all his published works, excluding Alcatraz and any novellas(Emperor's Soul is high up on my reading list, though). I LOVE the cosmere. I think it's one of the coolest things ever created, and I eagerly anticipate many many years of reading it in the future! Of the books, Stormlight is my favorite, with Mistborn a very close second. Warbreaker follows that, though I read Elantris about half a year before the other ones, with no knowledge of the cosmere, so I'm not so sure where to rate it. I plan to reread it soon and reevaluate. I wasn't a huge fan of The Rithmatist, I thought Rithmatics was really cool but the book itself didn't really work for me. Can't wait to dig deeper into the cosmere with y'all! 1
Windrunner he/him Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 Hey GreyPilgrim, good to have you here! Stormlight is my favorite of Brandon's works as well. If you get a chance to read Emperor's Soul, go for it, it's excellent! Hope to see you around
GreyPilgrim he/him Posted August 13, 2013 Author Posted August 13, 2013 I will definitely get into Emperor's Soul soon. I hear it has a lot of cosmere stuff. I've only been waiting because I prefer to read authors' works in publication order, and I just finished Alloy of Law. It's kind of weird for me--I already know the (online) personalities of many of the site's users since I've been reading the forums for so long. I feel as if I have some sort of edge over many of you.
Windrunner he/him Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 Hahaha, I felt the same way when I joined, I was a lurker myself. Well, I look forward to getting to know you
Kurkistan he/him Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 Uh oh, it usually takes at least a few months before they figure out our true natures. Quick, spike him now!
GreyPilgrim he/him Posted August 13, 2013 Author Posted August 13, 2013 You cannot spike the GreyPilgrim! I am a Maia, and I shall always watch and protect mankind! I will not be taken over by these mundane tactics! 1
aeromancer he/him Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 The Grey Pilgrim gets killed by the Balrog, no? Anyway, welcome to the site, Mithrandir
CrazyRioter she/her Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 But then he gets better! Anyway, it's great to see you delurking Grey Pligrim! I also think Stormlight the best and I am devouring any information I can get on Stormlight 2. and the Emperor's soul does indeed have plenty of Cosmere stuff.
GreyPilgrim he/him Posted August 13, 2013 Author Posted August 13, 2013 Gandalf does indeed get better! He is not limited by mortal flesh! Thus spikes would have no bearing upon him!
Gaelan he/him Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 Be welcome to the site! I am a huge fan of the Cosmere and I love the Stormligh archive too. Hope you have a good time there, see you around!
Windrunner he/him Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 Gandalf does indeed get better! He is not limited by mortal flesh! Thus spikes would have no bearing upon him! Meh, I'm pretty sure if we made a spike out of the One Ring it would work out okay.
GreyPilgrim he/him Posted August 13, 2013 Author Posted August 13, 2013 Too bad it kind of melted in a fiery volcano of doom.
aeromancer he/him Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 Too bad Gandalf was resurrected as the white pilgrim.
