Shardlet he/him Posted August 2, 2013 Posted August 2, 2013 This isn't a huge issue, but I noticed that a new WoR posting or thread does not appear on the forum index page. Instead, you see the most recent posting or thread in the general Stormlight Archive section even if that posting is way older than the new WoR posting. Is there a way to adjust this so that new postings in subsections show up on the index page? Or is it just another limitation of the software?
Windrunner he/him Posted August 2, 2013 Posted August 2, 2013 I think that's actually intentional. That subforum is a spoiler subforum, so it keeps people from seeing topics with spoilery names if they don't want to. Personally, I don't even look at the "most recent post" thing on the subforums. I go to that little dropdown menu immediately to the left of the search bar and select, 'View New Content". That page has all of the most recent posts going back as far as you tell it to go. You can also select which forums you want to view, so you only can see new posting from certain subforums, including the Words of Radiance one. I think it's much easier and useful to simply use that. Hopefully this helps, and I wasn't just telling you something you already new. 2
Kurkistan he/him Posted August 2, 2013 Posted August 2, 2013 (edited) Yes, this is 100% an intentional feature. Chaos actually had to stop thread titles from showing, back when he first made the TES subforum. Edited August 2, 2013 by Kurkistan

Chaos he/him Posted August 2, 2013 Posted August 2, 2013 Windy and Kurk speak the truth. There are some people who really, really don't like spoilers, and titles can sometimes contain spoilers. So this is done to accomodate that. If you mark the Words of Radiance forum as Read, however, you can actually see when new posts are there from the board index page, because the text that says "Words of Radiance Discussion" will be bolded when there are new posts. Hopefully that's an okay compromise. I personally don't really like not seeing the topics appear, but I do feel this is the right choice, as we have to cater to a rather large demographic I get in trouble enough for tweeting "spoilers" on the Twitter feed
