-Deleted- Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 I think I am most excited for The silence Divine. I say this because it's not too far off, it's a full-length novel in Cosmere set on a fresh, new world. I',m actually more excited for it than the next nine Stormlight books, the next six Mistborn books and so on. even though Stormlight is my favorite series to date. As far as my excitement priority list (ignoring Stormlight sequels). My top four are all set in the new worlds for a reason. TOP 4 1. Silence Divine 2. Liar of Partinel 3. White Sand 4. Skyward THE REST 5. Elantris 2 6. Nightblood 7. Shadows of Self 8. Steelheart 1-3 9. Rithmatist sequels. 1
Iredomi Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 Your priority list is basically what mine looks like. So much more interested in the future meaty Cosmere novels than the YA novels coming out now. Of course I'll still give them a chance (I've just started The Rithmatist) but I'm way too deep in the universe of Cosmere to fall for much else outside of literary fiction at the moment. Really hyped for Shadows for Silence short story too, read the preview and it looks like it will be awesome.
CrazyRioter she/her Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 I really really want LoP for Hoid's backstory. As far as sequels go (leaving aside the Stormlight books) I think I'm currently most interested in Nightblood.

I don't agree with you on the YA novels (because I really liked the Rithamtist and am really excited for the Steelheart trilogy) but I do agree with the Cosmere novels. I'm always just so excited for the beginning to a brand new series, or a standalone in a previously unseen world. And the fact that they're in the Cosmere makes it all the more better. And I think Skyward will be interesting because it's a YA Cosmere standalone in a new world. So I'm also excited for that. and yeah, both the new short story and novella coming out are on my mind constantly. I've also been dying to read all of the books his past students have put out (Daniel Abraham, Brian McClellan and Peggy Eddleman (and if you know of others let me know)). Sanderson mentioned once that he wanted to do books on other continents of Scadrial. And that's probably a VERY long while from now, but I look forward to it some day. And I'm curious as to the POVs for Elantris 3, which makes me pumped even more for Elantris 2 (which I have a feeling our Dula friend will be absent from). Brandon Sanderson seems, so far, to be doing a megaseries the waty I've always dreamed and planned on doing one. And if it is going the same route I think it is, Dragonsteel will be, by far, the greatest out iof all of this. Which isn't for probably another couple decades and will be well worth the wait. Anyway, don't get me wrong. I'm psyched for the sequels, I think Stormlight will remain my favorite series until the day I die, I'm really excited for the interludes, epigraphs, plots, new characters, artwork, etc. I'm really excited for the next two Mistborn trilogies and the Wax & Wayne novels to come. I'm curious in regards to the short story and novella. And I'm loving the YA novels. BUT, nothing beats a series debut or a fresh standalone novel in my mind. 1
-Deleted- Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 I really really want LoP for Hoid's backstory. As far as sequels go (leaving aside the Stormlight books) I think I'm currently most interested in Nightblood. I couldn't agree more. Hoid and Lightsong are my favorite characters. And now that Lightsong is, well, those who read know what I mean, I think Vasher is my new favorite and I can't wait to see what his next story is. And Hoid's backstory *mouth waters*.
Pechvarry Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 I want Nightblood more than anything, but I'm weird like that. But I think elantris 2 will be the most exciting for the site as a whole. I.expect we'll get a unifying law that ties all Sel magic systems together, and probably something fascinating about cognitive activity on Sel.
Meg Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 I'd like to know the full story of "I hate Dragons" if only for a few more "I can hear apostrophes."
theofficetroll he/him Posted August 8, 2013 Posted August 8, 2013 I'm about halfway through White Sand and I'm excited by the idea of a rewrite on it (and sequels). It's an interesting world and magic system, but the pacing is really rough. I'm a big fan of the Alcatraz books and am eager to see the fifth book wrap it all up :-) But, the biggest draw is probably anything having to do with Hoid and Adonalsium.

I have GOT to get my hands on White Sand, Aether of Night and Dragonsteel at some point. I haven't read Alcatraz yet. in fact, that and Legion are the only published things from him I haven't gotten to.
Arcanist he/him Posted August 23, 2013 Posted August 23, 2013 (edited) As far as my excitement priority list (ignoring Stormlight sequels). My top four are all set in the new worlds for a reason. TOP 4 1. Silence Divine 2. Liar of Partinel 3. White Sand 4. Skyward THE REST 5. Elantris 2 6. Nightblood 7. Shadows of Self 8. Steelheart 1-3 9. Rithmatist sequels. As for me I prefer Cosmere-books at most. Non-Cosmere stuff is interesting too in some way, but The Rithmatist didn't convince me. It was rather an fine "side-deviation" (as Brandon mentioned earlier), a good adventure novel, not more. My priority list: - 1.Stormlight sequels - 2. Second/third Mistborn trilogy (faaar away but I'm interested ) - 3.Diverse Wax/Wayne stuff - 4. Elantris 2 - 5. Nightblood (Warbreaker 2) - 6. Rithmatist 2 New series: I know nothing about White Sand, Liar of Partinel, Skyward etc, therefore its a bit hard to place them in the list. Sometimes I wish new novels/new worlds more than any Stormlight-sequel, because new worlds hide a lot of new fun, are exciting, etc. But on the other hand, I wish that the series we already know should continue and should end earlier. So I place "New Cosmere novels" after the second Mistborn trilogy on place Nr 3., and "New Non-Cosmere novels" (even Steelheart) after Nightblood. But: I would be glad if I could read a novel that ties all of the Shard-plotlines together, and here I do not mean the past (Shattering of Adonasium), only the happening in the actual timeline. imriel452 Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 I cannot wait for the reworking of the White Sand trilogy....especially as we have already met one of the characters from the series elsewhere in Brandon's books....not Hoid...

I'm assuming this is one of the 17th Sharders at the purelake? Just curious
cem he/him Posted November 18, 2013 Posted November 18, 2013 Yes, Blunt in that scene is from Taldain.
JcStoneDog Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 (edited) Sanderson just posted on Facebook that he thinks he will finish Firefight tonight. As per his last State of the Sanderson doesn't this put him a few months ahead of schedule? I wonder if he will get one more book than he had planed out this year or next because of it. It would be understandable if he took a break but some how I doubt he will Edited January 30, 2014 by JcStoneDog
Radda she/her Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 For those who haven't seen it yet, Brandon tweeted that he's going to do some work on Legion sequel in between Firefight drafts. I was hoping for the sequel to Alloy of Law but I'm happy either way.

Oathbringer he/him Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 It is really hard to choose. I am looking forward to them all but Stormlight and Hood's story are high on my list, though it would be awesome if he could do them all extra fast. Maybe he get Wayne to help him out with a speed bubble- more time for him to write!
Tamzin Ashevai she/her Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 I could get so lost in theories. I don't disbelieve theories. I don't develop theories. I read theories and open myself to them. I'm so open to theories that I both absorb and don't absorb them ... because I don't just want to "know". I want so much to be "surprised" by as much as I may when "the truth" is revealed. I know this sounds (to quote Shallan) "errorgant'. (I love this word!) Seriously, I'm not. I'm just outside the "prospectus". 1
Tamzin Ashevai she/her Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 (edited) W/regard to Firefight, I'm amazed given Brandon's time frame for completion! The man IS NOT a machine, but an incredible mind with an amazing wealth of imagination (and devotion)! Thanks, Brandon! Edited March 7, 2014 by Tamzin Ashevai
