Voidus Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 You know, if he can goad Nighthound into taking an aggressive enough approach, Deathwish could probably manage to win a fight between them provided Nighthound's unaware of his PI. I dunno--as much as a Wit would be enjoyable, I've kind of been enjoying the bizarre situation in The Dalles, where the Epics are nominally slaves but keep rising above their proper station. And with as many new characters there are in the city, I think there'll be more than enough conflict and aggression between Reader, Deathwish, and the rest of them to keep the thread interesting. So while I'm not opposed to the idea per se, I don't think it's really necessary and we'd have to be careful not to let her derail the character conflicts that could actually bear fruit. Are you saying you don't want an intangible psychopath constantly popping into Vondras office to ask him if he can grate cheese on his abs? 1
Edgedancer he/him Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 She could do that, she'd need a reason to project there in the first place but I'm sure we'll think of something. Probably not, unless he can Read people just from looking at a picture of them. Neverthere, why you so much potential. Although, if Nighthound would get the chance to do reckon first, it would be fairly easy to uncover some weaknesses. Actually, what would happen if someone would give him a syringe, obiously the stab would transfer but what about the medicine? I see what you're daying but not how Neverthere would desrupt the system, given that she'd only talk. (Then again, we may be over tasking Neverthere, if we give her this role as well.)

Well she does already have two homicidal boyfriends an evil overlord and is potentially going to idolize the biggest creep in the world. Maybe you're right.

You know, that's a good question. I think the effects of the drug would probably be reflected, and in the same way lead poisoning from a bullet wound would be reflected along with the wound itself. (This itself raises other questions, like whether Deathwish can catch a cold or get cancer from smoking too much. ) This RP takes weeks, sometimes months, to cover a single conversation. Constant appearances by Neverthere would rob from time we could be spending developing Dalles relationships. It's not so much a matter of disrupting a narrative I'm concerned about so much as it is overstuffing the narrative. 1

Voidus Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 That sounds like something corrupted!Edgerunner could do just as easily. Unfortunately due to her inability to phase through walls or teleport Vondra would probably just bar her form his office.
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted August 31, 2015 Author Posted August 31, 2015 Unfortunately due to her inability to phase through walls or teleport Vondra would probably just bar her form his office. She could always ambush him, ask that all-important question, and flee giggling into the night.

Maybe you're right. Does Numnums count as one of those boyfriends? Heck, she hasn't even left town with the schedule. She could always ambush him, ask that all-important question, and flee giggling into the night. Let's just hope she wouldn't get detention for that.
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted August 31, 2015 Author Posted August 31, 2015 Let's just hope she wouldn't get detention for that. RANSOM NOTES! Why didn't i think of this before? She could leave old-school ransom notes asking Vondra if he grates cheese on his abs! It's foolproof. 1

Edgedancer he/him Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 Your current avatar could work pretty nicely. I'm not sure, using a character that's a fallen hero and ultimately ends up as a villain could be a bad omen, even if the picture is nice. What's up with Orange Crush, by the way?

mail-mi he/him Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 Oh, and Edge, I have a pretty good icon for vapor: 4
Kobold King he/him Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 Onto business matters: which characters need my priority in The Dalles right now? I've gotten myself confused somewhere along the line.

Kobold King he/him Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 I'm not sure. Does Skylar need direction or help taming her feral redhead? The sun rose over The Dalles, filtering into a tired Vondra's office. He stood facing a window with a mug of coffee in his hand, brow furrowed in a look of deep thought. "Rhonda," he said finally. "Clear my schedule. It's time I taught Skylar's redhead a thing or two about how we do things here." There ya go. Next Dalles post good and ready to go. More seriously, I think she should be fine working autonomously. 3
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted August 31, 2015 Author Posted August 31, 2015 That would be... very... bad... To the contrary, I believe Skylar's vicious redhead could actually be a powerful force for good in The Dalles. 1
Mckeedee123 he/him Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 What's up with Orange Crush, by the way? I'm planning to write the first section of a three-part flashback explaining how he and a few other characters got from Texas to Oregon. Writer's block is an issue. I'm pretty sure there's nothing for him to do right now anyway though. He's incarcerated till Autumn and/or Reader is available. Unless, that is, another imprisoned character wants to have an interaction, in which case I'll skip the flashback for now and go straight into the present. 1

I have the sudden mental image of Orange Crush and Elsa playing harmonicas together while wearing black and white striped prison get up. It's surprisingly awesome. 4
