Curious Anamaximder he/him Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 How I view Reader's response to Autumn: My sentiments exactly.
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted August 31, 2015 Author Posted August 31, 2015 How I view Reader's response to Autumn: Were I able, I'd represent Autumn's view of Reader with a flailing, screaming toddler gif. 1
Edgedancer he/him Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 How I view Reader's response to Autumn: I don't get it. But I'll just assume it's appropriate. Planning out Jack's dialogue, with some luck I'll manage to humiliate/insult Reader some without laying to thick on the agressions.

Planning out Jack's dialogue, with some luck I'll manage to humiliate/insult Reader some without laying to thick on the agressions. I'd suggest having him tell Reader "You first, Mr. Abdominal Muscles What Abdominal Muscles," but if his weakness stems from what I think it stems from, being interrogated shirtless by another shirtless person would probably just trigger him more.

No, probably isn't going to say that. I tried something a bit different for his weakness to steam from, so you're probably wrong, but please, I'm always open for a theory.

Well, my guess was probably the most obvious, so I'm going to go completely outlandish here and say it stems from an incident involving a dream where he showed up to play a school basketball game in his underwear....and it wasn't a dream at all.
mail-mi he/him Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 Well I'm currently on my way to work and writting this with my cellphone so an actual RP post will have to wait a bit longer. However the shirtless variant is off the table, I can tell you that much. By the way, do Reader 's powers actually work that way? I'm actually not sure. Basically, I have to decide if Reader's powers do work that way, or he's lying through his teeth for the sake of getting Jack shirtless. (come on, give reader a break, he just wants a little fan service. )
Blaze1616 he/him Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 (edited) I don't get it. But I'll just assume it's appropriate. The phrase "You be trippin'" originated from drug culture. "Tripping" was slang for being high on drugs, also known as drug trips. The prevalence of drug culture slowly altered the phrase to the more common use of "B****, you be trippin'" as a response a man offers his significant other when she says something crazy, most often used in the popularized rap culture, a branch of the drug culture. This was then altered further to the "You be trippin'" as a means to say the line to men as well. To put it simply, "You be trippin'" means either 1) You're crazy, 2) You're acting unreasonably, or more literally 3) You're high on drugs. Edited August 31, 2015 by Blaze1616 2

My initial guess was sexual abuse of some kind but if that isn't it, then I'll say he got his weakness the day he learned why you're not supposed to cook bacon with your shirt off.
Edgedancer he/him Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 Sadly, no Reader punching this time. By the way Kobold, other doctors besides Baxter do exsist in the Dalles, right?
Kobold King he/him Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 (edited) By the way Kobold, other doctors besides Baxter do exsist in the Dalles, right? Probably, unless Koschei made a point of slaughtering anyone else who could heal people of their wounds. Great posts everyone, by the way. Edited August 31, 2015 by Kobold King

Well alright then. Epic arrogance saves lives. So Game would probably be among quite a few doctors, though given his treatment thus far he'd probably be the most esteemed. Arsenal and Vondra might encourage him to start training new personnel, too.

Edgedancer he/him Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 And Deathwish turns that into a pickup line in 3...2... Hey, at least he doesn't take the line in the Nighthound way. 1
Kobold King he/him Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 And Deathwish turns that into a pickup line in 3...2... "It it really that arrogant to make the logical assumption that you'll be in bed with me by the end of the night?" "Yes. Yes it is." "Oh." 2
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted August 31, 2015 Author Posted August 31, 2015 Hey, at least he doesn't take the line in the Nighthound way. Still, when the only person who can make you look halfway decent is Nighthound, you really need to work on your morals.
Edgedancer he/him Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 Still, when the only person who can make you look halfway decent is Nighthound, you really need to work on your morals. Good point, given that Nighthound could take the star role of no moral theatre.

Say, Voidus, Twi and i have been talking about the Dalles needing a Wit to take down Reader and Deathwish a couple dozen of peks (maybe in song form ) what do you think of Neverthere taking that role? On that accord, could Reader read Neverthere's astral projection? Edited August 31, 2015 by Edgedancer 2

On that accord, could Reader read Neverthere's astral projection? She could do that, she'd need a reason to project there in the first place but I'm sure we'll think of something. Probably not, unless he can Read people just from looking at a picture of them.
Kobold King he/him Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 "You kill him first and then we continue this conversation." Say, Voidus, Twi and i have been talking about the Dalles needing a Wit to take down Reader and Deathwish a couple dozen of peks (maybe in song form ) what do you think of Neverthere taking that role? You know, if he can goad Nighthound into taking an aggressive enough approach, Deathwish could probably manage to win a fight between them provided Nighthound's unaware of his PI. I dunno--as much as a Wit would be enjoyable, I've kind of been enjoying the bizarre situation in The Dalles, where the Epics are nominally slaves but keep rising above their proper station. And with as many new characters there are in the city, I think there'll be more than enough conflict and aggression between Reader, Deathwish, and the rest of them to keep the thread interesting. So while I'm not opposed to the idea per se, I don't think it's really necessary and we'd have to be careful not to let her derail the character conflicts that could actually bear fruit.
