Quiver he/him Posted August 15, 2015 Posted August 15, 2015 Anyone have any idea's for AU's (Alternate Universes) based on Brandon's books? I've alway's been a fan of parrallel universes, or different takes on concepts, or the old question of "What if". Considering how creative this fandom is -and how smart you guys are- i figured I should open this up to you... any particular AU's you guy's can come up with, for any of Brandon's novels? 1
Guest Posted August 15, 2015 Posted August 15, 2015 The most common one I have seen is the one where all of the Stormlight Archive younger characters are in College together.

We could do a stormlight/pony crossover, sort of like what was done for fallout equestria 2
Left he/him Posted August 15, 2015 Posted August 15, 2015 A version of Scadrial where tLR was a benificent ruler and vin and kelsier quite horrible rebels under Ruins control. A roshar where Elantrians had invaded long ago in their galactic quest to become a powerful enough empire to take revenge on Odium for his visit to Sel. Nalthis, a land of drabs and zombies going through a power struggle to obtain a cloak that a team of awakeners put Everyone's breath into. It is believed that a drab who obtains it will be able to restore himself and others to at least their previous heightenings. 1

Technically that first one is still what actually happened, depending on whose side you were on. Alloy of Law being somewhat of an example of how much perspective can change who is identified as the hero.
Paragrin she/her Posted August 15, 2015 Posted August 15, 2015 Kaladin gets tapped for the army surgeons and becomes an Edgedancer. And Tien lives because reasons. Les Mis...tborn. Elend and his friends get a little more... proactive. And Kell is raising Vin while keeping one Steeljump ahead of the Steel Ministry. And finally, because it popped into my head, Bridge Thor. 3
Haradion Drogon Posted August 16, 2015 Posted August 16, 2015 (edited) When I think of an AU, I like to imagine a defining difference, with plenty of ripples. For example, in War Breaker, what if Vivenna unleashed Nightblood? What if Siri fell in love with Lightsong, rather than the God-King? In Elantris, what if Hathran was sent to Teod, rather than Arelon? What if, In Mistborn, Marsh remained the leader of the Rebbelion? What is Kelsier was killed in the Pits, and it was Mare who dedicated her life to destroying the Final Empire? What if (And this is one I really like) MeLaan lead the other later Generations in Civil War to free TenSoon? The Kandra Civil War - with some being directly influenced by Ruin? rather than have the primary battle be focused around the control of Koloss, it is the Situation in the Homeland that everything hinges on, with some Kandra coming to members of Kelsiers Crew for aid? I don't know.I guess I really like the idea of MeLaan's character. Sort of TenSoon's adopted daughter, but at the same time with a hero worship rooted crush on him. It seems kind of... I don't know... sweet. Edited August 16, 2015 by Haradion Drogon
Quiver he/him Posted August 17, 2015 Author Posted August 17, 2015 I'm kind of considering a Stormlight AU at the moment, under the idea of... what if all the characters were the opposite sex. The strictures of Vorinism remain the same , so I'm trying to figure out how everyone would fit into this "new" world. I imagine telling Male!Jasnah that he can't learn how to read and write would earn a quick eyeroll. I see fem!Adolin as the equivalent of regular Renarin, while Fem!Renarin is probably at least a little happier. No idea what the rest are like, though.
