I'll try and get something sufficiently surreal written. :P

By the way awesome Lift memes. ;) Do you want me to tell you something about Lift's future you probably don't know?

Another thing I noticed is that FireSlayer refered to Skylar as the receptionist, so did you figure out her role in the city proper then?

Thanks! ^_^ Nah, I'll find out as I keep reading, right?

Yes, because she's awesome. :P

Then it doesn't count as a spoiler. Go ahead.

Lift is set to be a major character in the second half of the SA with her own flashbacks. Until then she'll porbably stay in Interludes.

Of course! The Newcago hot dogs weren't just a setting detail; they were foreshadowing! A food that is really 15 different foods all smashed together is the perfect energy source for Lift! :P

:o I didn't even think of that. You should post it to Cosmere Theories and see what other people think. :P

Lift isn't Cosmere, she's simply awesome. :P

And there you go. One weird dream made to order. :P

I think you just killed me. If my laugh-cramping lungs end up killing me, can I haunt you? I think I would be entertained. :P

On an unrelated note, it just came to my mind that David was actually completely wrong about Firefight, granted he mostly still got the right conclusion but that was because their cover ups were sloppy.

Only if you don't mind my writing stories about the haunting. :P

About the illusions, you mean?

Uh, I'm going to be a major character, right? :D

That as well but mostly how Firefight's powers tipped him of for being to basic to belong to an actual Epic... then it turns out Firefight is a real Epic, kind of at least.

It'll be called The Sharder Who Died and Became the Weird Dream Fairy, so yes. :P

That's true. Though I do wonder if there are any quirks when it comes to alt!Firefight, since that was the biggest tip-off to David that he wasn't real. While it would make sense that an alternate universe wouldn't operate by the same rules as the prime universe, it still seems odd to me that alt!Firefight, who is real and not just an illusion, wouldn't have any quirks to his powers. It's possible that Megan never had a chance to observe the full extent of his powers while he was in her world, though.

Can we change the word fairy to something more imposing sounding like demon?

Maybe such a power would have required him to physically touch something?

Weird dream….Oh! I know! Slayer of Normal Dreams! :P

Maybe. Could also be that he's keeping a few wild cards hidden for some reason.

Also, I thought of one possible reason why Reckoners might not end in a retcon:

So far, we haven't seen any evidence that Megan can summon shadows from the past, correct? Every alt!Megan she summons is her own age. Even when an alt!Megan is pulled from another universe at her death, that Megan remembers everything the other Megan did, except for dying. Therefore, it seems as though the alternate universes Megan draws from all move at the same speed as the prime universe, so she is simply pulling shadows from the same point on a different timeline.

Sure, you are the author afterall.

Why would he do that in a parallel universe, where is only job is to apear threatening? Though it could also be that the effects of his hypothetical power are hard to fake.

I don't think we have to worry about about the retcon scenario that much.

The beginning of Steelheart just reminded me of how bad even minor Epics are. You guys remember what Refractiony did to someone that cut her in trafic? Drive a car into her house. Oh but not her own one, no she used some random car with children on bord. Then there was also that time Megan almost killed David for getting dust on her.

He could have motivations of his own, though. I can't for the life of me imagine what they might be, but he could possibly have his own plans that preclude him from showing off too much.

Yeah….it just worries me, though. It's happened in stories where it wasn't supposed to be possible, and now that there's a series I love where it is….well, it just makes me a little uneasy. I trust Brandon, but the thought still makes me nervous.

I tend to think she tried to kill him more because he forced her to use her powers, thus threatening her cover, but yes, it was quite the overreaction.

And thus the true mastermind of the trilogy was revealed to be alt!Firefight as he did something with his hidden power. And that something hopefully wasn't a retcon/gone

Just reenforces how much the Dalles' Epics would have raised the town already. -_-

So we're taking some artistic license with the setting. We've still made one Calamity of a good story so far, so I don't see any need to fret over it. ;):)

I'll pay you not to do that in pony comics and weird dreams, alt!Firefight! :o

My headcanon is that they're all too awed by Vondra's awesomeness to do anything too terrible.:P
