VindicationKnight he/him Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 Is there anyone there? Hi I'm new obviously, and called VindicationKnight, even more obviously, I've lurked before but only signed up today so I like to think I'm reasonably up to date on the site and the Cosmere in general. Go gentle on me, I bruise easy. 3
Guest Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 Hello! And welcome to the Shard! (If you're up on the, you were probably expecting me...) Have an introductory upvote and a warm welcome cookie. I hope you enjoy your stay! What is your favorite Sanderson book to date?
VindicationKnight he/him Posted July 2, 2015 Author Posted July 2, 2015 Thank you Ohhh tough question, I think Way of Kings or Words of Radiance are his best individual books, but that The Final Empire and The Hero of Ages had the most impact on me, especially as part of a trilogy. Yourself?
Guest Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 I like Warbreaker the best out of his books. Something about it just speaks to me. After that, Stormlight is my favorite.
VindicationKnight he/him Posted July 2, 2015 Author Posted July 2, 2015 Stormlight is a popular second choice it seems, do you have a favorite character? Mine is probably fairly obvious given my username.
Mistrunner Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 ...THE COOKIE IS SPIKED Aw dang, the Dark Alley got here first again. Sad face. Not spiked as in alcohol, spiked as in spikes. Hemalurgic spikes. The cookie has spikes in it. Welcome to the Shard! Have an upvote and an awkward handshake or something! (I'm from the Knights Awkward. We're not very sociable. Sorry.) 2
Guest Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 From the Stormlight Archive or the Cosmere at large? Stormlight is Shallan. Or Szeth. Hard to decide. Cosmere is Sirienna.

(I'm from the Knights Awkward. We're not very sociable. Sorry.) The Knights of Awkward? Where do I sign up? I allready ate the cookies though, not to worry who doesn't enjoy the taste of crunchy metal coated soul fragments? They're incredibly nutritious, though they burn a little on the way down. Good choices, from Stormlight my favorite is currently Dalinar, with Shallan hot on his heels For the Cosmere as a whole it's obviously Vin, cause Vin. Edited July 2, 2015 by VindicationKnight 1

That's somewhat of a problem. We designed them so you would barely feel anything as you were spiked ate the cookie. Perhaps you need to be tested over at the Dark Alley.

Think that Hemalurgy is a superb science with alot of potential and a bad rep? Then the Alley is the place for you. Dinnae list t' the Naysayers, their words are naught but lies and jealousy. 1

We're over in the Social Groups forum. The link's in my signature. We're pretty awkward. (I was going to say awesome, but I realized that I needed a more accurate adjective.) 1

I do enjoy the human element of science... What's your research budget like? Plenty of money for the best tools? New hammers none of these splintery old mallets like we used back in old country? I can see a deal being made here We're over in the Social Groups forum. The link's in my signature. We're pretty awkward. Voidus Posted July 3, 2015 Posted July 3, 2015 The Dark Alley prides itself on the unique blend of steel and a powdered material that looks almost identical to the crushed skulls of our enemies, this original alloy produces a high quality hammer unlike anything you've ever experienced. Broken your last mallet trying to hammer a steel spike through something that is say approximately the same thickness and density of a human sternum? Worry no more, use the Dark Alley hammer and that thick piece of unspecified material will yield like butter!*The Dark Alley holds no responsibility for the use or misuse of its hammers, any resultant physical, spiritual or mental damage caused by the Dark Alley hammer is the sole responsibility of the wielder, hammer may cause undesired fracturing of the soul, inexplicable wails of the damned or spontaneous taco generation, we have no idea why but hey, free tacos. 1

Almost identical to the crushed skulls of our enemies huh? I NEED to speak to your human resources department!
Fatebreaker he/him Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 Would that be the department that disperses our sentient research materials, or the one that oversees working conditions, because the latter is alot less amicable, and you may want to wait until he's dealt with the Faceripper Iguana outbreak in Alley 15...

I may be crazy but I'm not stupid, everyone knows never to bother the *evil* kind of human resources department. Edited July 4, 2015 by VindicationKnight
