Colours Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 Greetings, all! Once upon a time, I had a graphing calculator. You could read books on it. And somewhere, someone was giving away a free graphing-calculator-compatible copy of Warbreaker. ...And that was how I spent that one study leave. Whoops? Anyway, so far, I've nibbled through Warbreaker, Elantris (+ The Emperor's Soul), Legion, and the first Mistborn trilogy. The settings are always interesting, the characters are fun, and it's always good to see the magic treated as it would be, if it was real - as a branch of science/art. After not very much consideration, I have decided that the ultimate OTP is Raoden x Nightblood and that the Lord Ruler absolutely needs a fangirl army. Of course, I'm joking - or am I? I can't quite decide what to read next. The Alloy of Law? Steelheart? The Way of Kings? Legion 2? I'll get around to them all eventually. Maybe. Feel free to ask me anything. I may occasionally answer with the truth. 6
Quiver he/him Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 A Warbreaker fan? Awesome! Anyway, welcome. I'd recommend the Way of Kings (and Words of Radiance); it might be a nice break from the Mistborn books, but Alloy has some sequels coming out at the end of the year/begining of next year, so it might help to read Alloy closer to their release date.
Guest Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 (edited) Glad to have you here. I can tell I'm gonna like you already. Have an upvote and a delicious, warm cookie. I suggest The Way of Kings first, for no other reason than that Shadows of Self and Bands of Mourning, two of its sequels, are coming out in October and January, respectively. Favorite Cosmere character? Edit: I went afk, and Quiver ninja'd me. Edited May 22, 2015 by Guest

Thanks for the recommendation - it looks like the opinion is universal, and there's probably a reason for that. WoK it is, then. (I've also grown a bit more interested in Steelheart after reading Worm. What do you all think of it?) Glad to have you here. I can tell I'm gonna like you already. Have an upvote and a delicious, warm cookie.[...]Favorite Cosmere character? Greetings, and I am glad. I will, however, regard this cookie with due suspicion. Oh, and the upvote too. Are spiked upvotes a thing? As for favourite character, hmm... It's hard to say. Maybe Lightsong - the way he talks reminds me of The Picture of Dorian Gray, which is awesome. Maybe Tindwyl, because she's Tindwyl. Or maybe Zane, because denpa-kei. He gets all the moe points. /animese Oh, and Nightblood is definitely the most adorable sword of all time. I wouldn't mind having a Nightblood plushie. 2
Quiver he/him Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 I'm afraid I haven't read Steelheart...but its prompted a vibrant RPG community here, so I'm guessing it must be pretty good.
