Mailliw73 he/him Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 Is there a purpose behind the symbols for each Allomantic metal? Or are they just there to add art? What if an Elantrian drew one of those symbols while on Scadrial? O.o (possibly nothing), but as I noticed all the Allomancy symbols have a dot (similar to the aons). This might amount to nothing, but I just thought of this so...
Millennium Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 If I recall correctly, Brandon did say there's a meaning, but it has not yet been revealed. I always thought it was funny that in the Lerasium symbol, and only that symbol, one of the spikes is bent. A swipe at Hemalurgy or its master, perhaps?
cleric Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 Nice catch on Lerasium symbol! I never caught that. Knowing Brandon there is a meaning, even if he doesnt know it yet. I know they were done by an artist and he did roughly 1,000 symbols or so (according to writing excuses) However I bet that Brandon gave him instructions on what they all needed. (such as the dot) Connecting the magic systems and lore could be a very cool thing way way down the road in his writing.
Senor Feesh Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 Actually started a topic a while back discussing this, you can find it here
